  1. I stopped caring about this game when they said it was forced PvP at every zone. I want to do what I want at any time not when the "group" is all good to go so we can deal with PKs

  2. With the no fast travel argument, I think ppl will heavily not like it for a slightly different reason. It sucks for the obvious reason, but the more subtle reason is that there will be very limited knowledge about the WHOLE game because one of the main designs is that the world is "evolving" based on who controls the nearby regions.

Long story short: the game will be too complicated for ppl to enjoy without serious investment.

  3. When this got first announced it sounded a bit too ambitious. It's been so long now I just don't care lol. I enjoy WoW and FF14 too much, idk if I even wanna try getting into another MMO.

  4. Ashes is an old school Sandbox MMO, modelled after Runescape/Everquest. It's not catering to the themepark crowd that 14 attracts.

It DOES however, very much speak to fans of 11 such as myself because 11 is pretty much the last standing MMO of that style that is still making bank.

It even has subclasses ! I hope they can eventually port this to console but even if they don't I'd like to get a new PC to try it eventually.

It's certainly an ambitious game, but this one actually stands a decent chance of coming out and being a success (unlike Star Citizen).

They might be overshooting with the world size though it is insanely large.

  5. I honestly don't get how people constantly praise all the games trying to do things so different from a properly proven and established formula.

It's like they don't understand WHY ff14 ARR destroyed its competition or something. How does a game embrace everything about fundamental western MMO's 10 years ago, despite its original 1.0 version being 100% different, and win a majority share of the playerbase, only for people to go "NAH WE DON'T WANT ANOTHER WOW CLONE"?

  6. My main gripe is that they're making it accessible to many. Another fucking game where there won't be this effect of everyone jumping in and figuring out a game at the same time. It's what you think of when you think of "the good ol days." Now is basically release. If the game has a lot of knowledge-based power, which these sandbox world content type MMOs do (like ArcheAge), you better get in and start learning now. Cause when you'll start at "launch" with players that have been playing it for 3-4 years, everyone knows the builds, the golden path for leveling, how and when you unlock important stuff, how to plan a path to get up there quick and dominate world PVP.

  7. The Node System is what will separate the game from the rest. Not only will it control the content, but it will also provide friction between guilds and nodes. There are tons of systems to learn.

It's PvX Open World combat with a Corruption System. The game is paid for by the creator and donations, so a total fail won't happen to launch but it is a niche game for sure.

  8. Im following the game a long time now and with the systems they want in the game its destined to flop.

Allot of these stuff worked in the Stone age, its 2020+ now 99% of people don't want this time wasting and griefing trolling crap when they play games, life is stressfull as it is, people want to relax when they play NOT have a gameplay loop that feels like second or hell a third job.
The WHOLE game is designed to be a Guild Leader Asslicking contest. Did you know only the guild/town leaders are allowed to have flying mounts ? yes you heard it right…

  9. But the reality is that all "modern MMOs"… don't have any success at all, maybe at launch but a lot lose 90% of the players in the first year, so I think that making an MMO that has nothing to do with a new MMO makes it a better idea. Let's not forget that it was WoW Classic what bringed more new players to Blizzard, not WoW.

Also, the video is from a year or more ago… And I don't mean the video itself, but some of the footage, the dragon thing I saw it a year or so… So yeah. Everyone who is playing the game says it's so fun, but maybe not for everyone, like all games xD
