It does look pretty neat, so I’ll consider it once I beat some more games in my backlog
I so far really enjoy the game. It just feels a bit grindy at times, especially when you're going into a new Area and suddenly the Mons are 5 lvls above you. Lvling up takes a while and being on the Same lvl doesn't even say anything since you can still get swept by a Mon, that's the same lvl than you are. Especially if you don't have the right type or move to counter it. That being said, I still enjoy the world and it's characters! I'm not very far storyvise yet tho
I would prefer for a mobile port for a game like this. but looks awesome.
Damn, this one completely blindsided me! Dragon Quest Monsters 3 is so close. Bumped this to the top of my wishlist though!
Its awesome. Buy it
Can't wait to go digital with this title!
I'm gonna go against the positivity wave here and say that I REALLY dislike the lack of exciting battle animations.
I feel like, in a game where battling monsters is the primary gameplay, there should be a much larger focus on nailing exactly that part of the game. In other games like Moonstone Island, where battling is definitely a large part of the overall gameplay but not necessarily the primary part, it's easier to accept the lack of integrate battle animations. Same goes if the game in question was in early access for example, and still had better/more animations planned further down the road or something. But Anode Heart is neither of these two, and for that I just feel obligated to point it out and give it that criticism where (again, I feel like) criticism is due.
I hope it comes to switch eventually but I'm having fun with it so far
If only if it's on Nintendo Switch…
That first "boss" was a slap in the face compared to everything before it. Having fun so far anyway
I would only buy it on the switch because i share my steam account with 2 other family members and i like how i can bring the switch with me while i cant do that as much with my laptop
This is a very refined fusion of several games. It's got some problems tied to information access and just how important certain mechanics are for getting stronger, but it is fundamentally an improvement on every single game it uses as inspiration.
I'll give props to the dev(s) for making this game, it looks amazing, but… it's not interesting to me. I wouldn't mind more animations for the battle sprites or at the least have a "damage/hit" sprite when an attack hits them to liven up the battles. Also, I love the raising aspect of Digimon or Monster Taming so not being able to feed them and take them to the bathroom kinda kills it to me.
Also, not sure I like the whole "you're an android" aspect of the Player but it's whatever. Anode Hearts feels more Digimon World 3 in terms of battling and grinding for Monsters which I do like DW3, while the world exploration and recruiting is from DW1, but I don't know. So far, I'm not just interested or liking what I see so far for this game.
That said, I do like the Monster Designs. I guess I'll wait for more info and maybe I'll be surprised, but this looks like a no from me about getting it.
I haven't stopped playing this game since it came out. I have been enjoying it a ton, but I feel like there are things I'm missing in terms of mechanics.
I feel we are in a true golden age of monster taming games. The likes not seen since the 90s and 2000s. Jade cacoon and robopon walked so Anode Hearts could run lol
