Here's where I'm devils advocate. I don't care if they cast a transgender, as long as it's not about them being transgender. Shameless (US) had a Transgender actor in it, it was never about them being transgender. They were just a character in the show.

Just a guess. But I think the reason the quality of cgi, sets and production is because they know they aren’t going to make money on this, so why waste money to make it look good.
