Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
We drift through the universe, from planet to planet, pushed on by the solar winds. We adapt and we survive. The function of life is survival.

Maybe we could form an Invasion Of The Body Snatchers fan club and all the members could do the "Donald Sutherland scream" and finger pointing at each other. That's how we'd greet each other.
One of my favorite movies, I watch it a couple times a year. The 2 scenes that always stuck with me as a kid was the banjo guy/dog hybrid & the final scene when you think Matthew is still normal but the final scream just sends chills up your spine when you realize they got him at some point in the night.
Sound design plays such an important part in horror flicks. This one does such a great job
That end scream really freaked me out as a kid. Nowadays it seems kinda obvious because it's been spoofed and ripped off in other movies but back in the day it was the stuff of nightmares
Most people know Donald Sutherland today from the Hunger Games films but he's been in tons of stuff. Don't Look Now is another classic he was in.
The Invasion with Nicole Kidman is ok but nowhere near as good as the '78 version. It does add an interesting new ending though.
The original 1956 version was my childhood's biggest fear after seeing it on TV in the middle 60's.
well I got to see a young brooke adams nude in this film which was great but the movie was pretty good too⚛😀
You have several Body Snatcher movies. You mentioned in your video the 1956 version, which by the way, the man screaming at the car window that gets rundown is the main character in the 1956 version. Little homage there. From there you have Body Snatchers from 1993, which was an interesting take. And then you have The Invasion from 2007 with Nicole Kidman. Also pretty good. Even though that one hits very close to home, with the "mandatory vaccine" by the CDC to prevent the outbreak of a virus. Enjoy!!
It was not a decade of happy endings
Eye of the Needle with Donald Sutherland and Kate Nelligan…!!!!!
Written and Directed by Philip Kaufman, who co wrote the story for RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK!
This is an allegory for mass group think, people being controlled rather than having control over themselves.
There are a lot of great films from the 70s and many of them horror/thriller. I hope you guys will watch some Dario Argento movies, they're good fun and got some tense creepy moments. Good cinematography to them too.
I highly suggest watching the remake with Nicole Kidman and daniel craig.
I love this movie. You should watch the 50s version too. The 50s version used the fear of Communism taking over the U.S. This version used the mistrust of the government during the 70s. You'll notice a lot of the scenes had suspicious looking people just staring, or the characters not knowing who they can trust.
Loved your reactions and breakdown of this great sci-fi horror film. If you really enjoyed this movie you should maybe check out the ABC TV series from several years ago called " INVASION " I watched it during its initial run and loved it. There's a great story and really good character development in this show. A minor spoiler is that the aliens use a hurricane making landfall in Florida as cover for their invasion, so that they would go unnoticed! There's a scene where a little girl is watching lights fall from the sky! It only ran for one season but I wish there had been more.
The wife was not Veronica Cartright. She is the woman with Jeff Goldblum
8:55 it's funny, when i saw this part, i thought it would come back later cause the alien couldn't do it, and that's how he'd know it wasn't her, but it never happened. just an odd talent she has. 😂 one of my first films i saw with Donald Sutherland was the CG Final Fantasy film from 2004, and my first film with his son was from "The Bay Boy" a canadian film from the 80's. there's a western film with both of them together, worth watch. another great reaction from a classic!
47:19 Leornard said it when he captured them "we travel on the solar winds, planet to planet" so i think it was a global take over, we just got a microscopic view of the takeover, 5 people as they struggle to survive.
I've seen this in the mid 80's on VHS tape. Too young, made a big memory mark. Still, I consider this a top 5 horror/sci-fi movie
Great reaction as usual! Donald Sutherland is in Don't Look Now, a beautiful scary movie, and a lot of great movies especially in the 70s. Director Philip Kaufman co-wrote the first Indiana Jones, and made the excellent The Right Stuff. Veronica Cartwright (Nancy) is in Alien and also, as a little girl, Hitchcock's The Birds.
Leon? Sorry, am getting lobster flashbacks.
Just a fun fact. The female lead, Brooke Adams is married to Tony Shalhoub, who starred in Monk.
24:20 when he said that comment I laughed out loud
