As pressure for profits increased on corporations during the global financial downturn of the late 2000s, the U.S. Department of Justice pursued an aggressive crackdown on an international business tactic: bribery. The 2009 documentary “Black Money” examined this shadowy side of international business. The film shed light on how some multinational companies routinely made secret payments — often referred to as “black money” — to win billions in business, and explored the crackdown being waged by prosecutors at the U.S. Department of Justice and allies abroad against companies including the British-based multinational defense company BAE Systems.

  1. USA and allies with alphabet agencies have no morals.. Truly frustrating all the lobbying, arraignments and 'diplomatic' processes aka benefiting pockets! When they're going to start investigating all politicians? They give immunity to themselves, law enforcement and others as agreement to cover up? A real political triumph!!

  3. I tried leaving this comment on another video of yours, but YouTube Mommy seems to have deleted it, so I'll try again.

I'd like to ask you to investigate financial institutions who try to force customers to stay in credit card or other loan debt by threatening to close customer accounts with $0 balances for x-months at a time. This activity is currently legally allowed and the result is that if the accounts are closed, customer credit ratings are negatively impacted, via the change in their debt-to-credit ratios.

If you could please do that, to find out which ones practice this predatory indebtedness behavior and which ones don't, as well as the reasons they each give for why they do or don't, I would really appreciate that. American consumers are being entrapped in this catch-22 because it hasn't been brought to the forefront, and that needs to change.

Credit ratings are used for everything from signing up for utilities to job application processes and housing seeking activities. The financial institutions who practice this entrapping behavior are threatening peoples' futures, no matter what their customers do, because they aren't allowing customers to put their accounts on indefinite holds that go beyond the x-months limit.

Their doing that is unethical. Credit cards in particular are for "rainy days" and emergencies, not perpetual use. They aren't cash-based bank accounts, but our laws are treating them as if they are. This has got to change, but it won't until this gets reported on. Thanks for considering this request!

  9. I've seen this before a few times. This documentary is old. I have Syriana on DVD. The movie is based on the life of Robert Baer's and his time in the CIA. I hope that this is seen by many more people. Thanks.

  12. This transaction began in another era. IMHO it waa “grandfathered” because following the treaty would require breaking a current agreement. Does anyone notice that the Saudis purchased from the British due to the belief that the Israelis would object? Doesn’t sound like the US is getting much benefit from that relationship.
