Inside one of Russia's most horrific torture chambers in Ukraine

During the occupation of Kharkiv Oblast in 2022, Russian forces established nearly 30 torture chambers in various parts of the region. This story focuses on just one of them — the torture chamber at the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant.
After taking control of the border town of Vovchansk on Feb. 24, 2022, the Russian army set up one of the most horrific torture chambers there, where hundreds of people, mostly civilians, were held. Later, following the liberation of the region by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russians completely destroyed the torture chamber with aerial strikes.
In this report, we document exclusive testimonies from survivors and delve into the work of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office, which managed to identify FSB operatives and Russian military personnel involved in the torture.

  1. Half of my family stayed in Vovchansk during occupation. We had this information available as early as it started spreading amongst the citizens. People of all nationalities must know and understand what these dostoevsky/pushkin/chaykovsky lovers are. Perverted jealous monsters

  3. Kyiv 'Independent'. Right, there's nothing independent in your business, you're one of the leading propagandists doing CIA's dirty works by lying to the public. The most horrific torture chambers are actually in Ukraine, not in Russia.

  4. Time 4:57 of the report: there is a famous quote by A. Solzhenitsyn written on the door. A famous quote from the book “Gulag Archipelago”: “Don’t trust, don't be afraid, don't ask for mercy anyone“. That was an advice by A. Solzhenitsyn on how to behave in the infamous Soviet prison, an analog of the Nazi concentration camp. I do not know who wrote this quote. But Russians restored the infamous practices of the horror we have known for the last century.

  6. Would Ukraine condemn the aggression of US to Canada, Mexico, Panama and Greenland? Would Ukraine pose sanction on the US and send 100 billion dollars to defend the freedom of Canadians and Mexicans? 😂😂😂😂
