Inside Miami’s deadly plastic surgery industry | Fault Lines Documentary

In this episode of Fault Lines, we look into Florida’s cosmetic surgery industry, which has made national headlines for its high incidence of patient death and disfigurement, especially with regard to the extremely popular Brazilian butt lift (BBL) surgeries.

The Florida Board of Medicine has spent years trying to place guardrails on the industry, particularly with regard to BBL surgeries, but our investigation reveals a pattern of surgeons engaging in unsafe practices and lobbying lawmakers to allow them to continue doing so.

  1. Bbl look ridiculous. Natural curves are so much better. Just doing squats everyday will give you a nice proportional shape. Just invest in your own health. You have 1 body, don't abuse it 😢

  2. My thoughts: these women have mental health issues around body image. They don't need BBLs, they need a mental health assessments. Body dismorphic disorder. And it's sad that doctor's are taking advantage of people. It doesn't help either with social media glorifying what a perfect body is. I am more grateful for what I have and what functions how it should after watching this. God sees those doctor's and they will have to answer for that one way or the other.

  3. 😒 So obviously, Latinx concentrated Miami is a shallow place with Latinx doctors importing low ethical standards from Latin culture. Great! Hope that "surgeon" who caused patients' death gets some serious jail time and sued for every penny he's got.

  5. Great video, I think videos like these will help younger women see the real risks behind these surgeries and hopefully turns them away from it altogether.
