Correct about Russian handling of the children.
Three common reasons for moving the children to safety out of the battle areas.
1. Children who are orphans.
2. Children with no locatable relatives due to war conditions.
3. Children whose parents requested that their kids be relocated out of the battle areas.

Many of these children are in Russian territory temporarily. They are being cared for, fed, and in school to keep them at their grade level. When Russia is finished with Ukraine, the children will be free to return or be returned to their previous U homes. Where returning is not feasible and no relative can be located, then placement of the unclaimed children will be done.
Russian military had been bring in extra medical and food supplies for people in liberated areas. Civilians in war areas can be treated in Russian military hospitals when needed.
