INSIDE ALLERTON CASTLE 4K STUNNING DJI DRONE

I feel so priveleged to have been kindly invited along to film at Allerton Castle in North Yorkshire.

Allerton Castle, a stunning architectural masterpiece nestled in the heart of North Yorkshire, England.

Originally built in the 18th century, the castle’s story begins with the Stourton family, who commissioned its construction as their ancestral seat. However, it was not until the 19th century that Allerton Castle truly came into its own.

In 1745, the original structure was largely demolished and rebuilt in the Georgian style by the acclaimed architect George Martin. Yet, it was the ambitious vision of one person that would transform Allerton Castle into the majestic neo-Gothic wonder it is today.

In the mid-19th century, the castle caught the eye of the esteemed Lord Mowbray, who enlisted the renowned architect George Gilbert Scott to undertake an extensive renovation. Drawing inspiration from medieval castles and Gothic cathedrals, Scott reimagined Allerton Castle as a fairytale-like estate, complete with soaring towers, intricate carvings, and ornate interiors.

Under Lord Mowbray’s patronage, Allerton Castle became a symbol of wealth, power, and sophistication, hosting lavish events and entertaining royalty, including King Richard III and Queen Victoria. Its grandeur and elegance captivated all who crossed its threshold, earning it a place in the annals of English architectural history.

Throughout the years, Allerton Castle has witnessed its fair share of triumphs and trials, from changing ownership to periods of neglect and restoration. Yet, its enduring allure and timeless beauty continue to captivate visitors from around the world, offering a glimpse into the opulent lifestyles of the past.

Today, Allerton Castle stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of its creators and a beacon of architectural excellence. Its storied past lives on in every stone, every carving, and every whisper of the wind that rustles through its ancient halls, reminding us of the timeless allure of this magnificent castle.

Allerton Castle was the location for ITV’s Victoria, BBC’s Sherlock Holmes – The Sign of Four, and the 2020 feature film Say Your Prayers.

Inside, the grand oak-lined hallway and gilt-embellished furniture are a throwback to the era in which the castle was originally decorated. Outside, there are 200 acres of North Yorkshire countryside and wonderful formal gardens to explore – some of the scenes from The Secret Garden were filmed here. Allerton Castle has also played host to The ABC Murders.

Some of the scenes from The Secret Garden were filmed here. Location, Location, Location (Channel 4), Europe’s Strongest Man (Channel 5) and the Bollywood films 1920 and Shandaar were also filmed here.

  1. Spectacular for the filming but above all for the furnishings of this interior of the castle. it looks like it was just built. Congratulations for the video and the music as well as the filming. Since I've been on the YouTube platform, it is undoubtedly the most beautiful and polished video I've ever seen. You're great.👋👋🦤Seagull Fly

  2. Incredibly stunning, it feels as if I were walking inside this castle and sometimes flying over each magnificent and intricate décor and architecture. It's so smooth that I didn't even see anyone's shadow behind each door. L15

  3. Beautifully shot, Trevor. I've got a couple of questions: manual exposure, not auto? There's some difficult lighting exposure that you've overcome there. Plus, did you edit out the drone in After Effects from the mirror at 1:41? Well done, mate!

  4. Superb Trevor! Did you have to do anything special to compensate for (presumably) no GPS signal? I ask because a long time ago I sent my DJI Phantom aloft forgetting to make sure it had acquired GPS lock before doing so, consequently it panicked, shot sideways and crashed.

  5. Stunning castle interior. 2:01 nice scene with the opening door. I spent much of the video trying to decide if you are using a drone or a handheld camera with fantastic stabilization. Judging from the footage and the title I will say drone. Well flown and edited! Extraordinary opportunity👍
