A very important information, does not only concern the last plague: All plagues were directed against the 10 most important Egyptian gods, starting with the Nile god, called Hapi, and ending with the mockery of the sun god Ra and as you mentioned, the 'Divine Pharaoh'
the explanation about the death of the first born son couldn't be any more wrong. if they died because of exposure to pests while working in the fields, then why did the prince died too if he wasn't working in the fields.

The bible was written by man. You can tell this because of the many contradictions in it. If it was the written word of god, there wouldn't be ANY contradictions in it.

The Bible doesn't say first born son it says first born so that means anyone that was first born would have died including women

There's a theory which might explain the tenth plague, the Death of the Firstborn: Ancient egyptian children used to sleep on mats in the floor while hebrews and adults slept on beds. When the Santorini erupted and exploded, uncountable amounts of carbon dioxide was released. As CO2 is heavier than breathable air, it formed an invisible cloud that saturated everything up to 10-15 inches above ground, silently killing everyone who was sleeping. Hebrews, both children and adults, as well as adult egyptians were spared because they were sleeping on beds above the invisible CO2 cloud.
This also might explain why the Nile turned blood red in the first plague, as iron oxide deposits could've been released from the bottom by the lighter CO2 gas. Iron oxide is highly toxic to fish, plants, and even humans, causing gastrointestinal irritations, diarrhea, and vomiting, which also leds to dehydration.
People tried to use science to prove GOD doesn't exist. Little do they know, God made and used science. They are using science that proves God's wrath did happen.
To those who don't believe this was caused by God, look again. Notice that the plagues weren't hurting the jews, just the egyptions. This was God protecting them.
The plagues was to represent their Egyptian gods. Letting them know they have no power. The frogs was to mock a certain god of fertility that has a head of a frog. Also people still worship this as well. Even with the first born a false god of protector of children. And even after all this they still left in a mixture. Good still wanted all to be saved even Pharaoh. Sorry I don’t know these Egyptian gods very well.
