  1. I found a tiny mistake in lego ninjago city gardens instruction booklet number two on page 81, I don't know if you found it already but it shows the Mechanic holding a gun thing, there is a blade piece on the end of the gun. In the booklet the cover bit of the blade piece is facing the reader's left. The cover bit is on the top in th picture but if you build it you'll notice that the piece is positioned impossibly in his hand and on the gun.

  2. Lego has become overreliant on licensed themes, and in the coming years lego will need to move back to original themes, or expand who they can work with. The star wars sequel trilogy and streaming series won't generate the same interest as the clone wars, prequels, and original trilogy have. Marvel is somewhat more flexible but has a similar issue with the MCU.

  3. I'm just going to say this, but I as of the last 8 years, Mega Construx has been better than Lego. No stickers, just prints, excellent model details, very few obnoxious play features depending on the line, the figures are way cooler and better to display than lego figures are, and the designs that they come up with are amazing. It sucks that the Activasion COD license ran out for Mega because those were objetively some of the best Mega sets and I'd love to those come back, and I even think the Star Wars license should go to Mega as I'm confident they would be a lot better than Lego's sets

  4. Most modern lego sets feel over engineered
how does a 2500 piece set only manage to cover the space of a 500 piecer from 1989
i get people want detaiils in their sets, but i feel the more detail we get, the more tedious construction becomes
Also stop galidor slander, the plastic quality of the parts is incredible

  5. Hot take 1: Collectible display sets are super boring. "It looks like a thing" is not a play feature.
Hot take 2: The over-use of Technic pieces in Lego sets severely decreases their value in terms of creativity and imagination, because Technic pieces are more advanced and specific for their purposes. If you want this Star Wars ship or Chima or Ninjago set, so you can set it on the shelf and dust it sometimes, it's fine. If you want to build and play, like a child, Technic parts are a big ask.
Hot take 3: Lego cities that are all or mostly just sets and modular buildings (and "rebrickable" models) are also pretty boring. Let me guess, your city has the downtown, where you've got all the Modular Buildings, the three big Marvel buildings, Ghostbusters HQ, the Simpsons buildings, and a few alternate builds of Modulars here and there. Then you've got the harbor, where you've put that lighthouse, and then lined up all your boats. And on the other side is the suburb, where there's four Creator theme houses, at the back there's the Ninjago City sets, and over here is a big amusement park with all the big ride sets. But what did you make?
Hot take 4: Lego city displays with roads and railways are just elaborate display set ups for car and train sets.

PS: if you want to just collect Lego as display objects, that's fine, you can do that. Hot takes are my opinions.
