What a dumb argument. "If profit shrink causes them to fire people, that's their problem" "If you notice a company is struggling, are you obligated to financially support them?" Duh no. But there's a big difference between NOT supporting something, and actively harming it by stealing. If my friend is struggling to pay his rent, it's not really my job to pay it for him. But that doesn't mean that burglarizing his house is of equal moral standing. Sure, in both cases he can't afford it and is kicked out, but I definitely had a bigger impact in one case than the other. He's acting like they're morally identical.
According to this guy's argument, under a socialist system there would still be wars because a lot of people play Call of Duty
His utopia video was pretty bad too.
I used to work at a big chain grocery store, and while it sucked, the thing that got stolen the most (that we caught/noticed), was baby formula.
I never turned one mother over for it though, and I think our product security guy who did was one evil motherfucker.
On a serious note, businesses steal far more from workers than people steal from businesses. When real wages are still dropping, employers are forcing workers to pay a larger stake in their own “employer provided benefits” and their profits are driving inflation, I don’t feel a whole lot of sympathy for businesses.

2 funny things about these 2 comics
1. theyre both shitty lefty comics
2. the artist who made the left comic also made the new guy a thing because she wanted le epic pewds dunk
hey i got an idea. how about everyone goes to this person's house that promotes shoplifting, and shoplift all their shit. should be cool.
not that he minded having that stuff, sure he might have liked if he was able to keep his stuff but here's an idea all the "economists" would see it as an opportunity for him to collect new stuff. since it seems he likes collecting stuff already i'm sure he won't mind. especially if he can just do so in a simulation game, hey he collected all the stuff in his simulation video game.. should be enough to keep him warm in the winter.
also the fact of him saying that most people stealing are just stealing the necessities such as a loaf of bread is laughable. i work at retail pharmacy and HOMELESS people or people bordering on that, maybe even young kids would steal food/candy but the majority of what is stolen is luxury alcohol, cosmetics, shaving cartridges, etc. there's a reason why in stores you don't see food behind glass cases.. and everything else is laid bare. this guy has no idea of how the real world works. also most companies do get insurance for theft BUT even then they're losing a lot and they have to make the decision as Destiny said if they should keep that store open or closed. Theft does affect store hours for people working there because essentially if you have a full staff and theft is happening they assume people there aren't doing anything to prevent it and as it worsens they give less hours. In reality it can be a group of 5 people coming in during a busy time of day that the people working there can't watch them and also help their customers at the same time.
i will say he does have a very punchable face.
Remember bros, looking like shit is a choice
That smarmy snark, that face, those takes… Ugh
Nobody is starving to daeth in America, the same way shoplifters aren't stealing food.. they're stealing electronics and shoes
An easy example of the wage theft thing. My company used to demand employees show up 15 minutes early, unpaid, for a pre shift briefing. This adds up to several lost hours a year
Thought slime is a communist
I'm pro shoplifting mega corps, anything else is morally disgusting. Never steal from individuals, rich or not, never steal from small businesses. I pray on the downfall of these companies and they shouldn't exist at this level. I have DNA refunded Amazon for thousands, I don't feel an ounce of shame. These companies treat their workers like subhuman, constantly lobby against the people's interests and get away with insane tax cuts that should be distributed to people of need.
his arguments are relatively weak but Thought Slime is 100% correct in identifying that economics is a total fraud. It is no more real or measurable than theology, and we've replaced theologians with economists. Like theology, it is construct which wrongfully leads us to believe in scarcity (and punishment if we betray the dogma), so we continue to rely on otherwise useless power centres & their people.
I saw that video from Slime and It just might be the dumbest video Ive ever seen
I've worked a few different construction jobs and there's definitely a lot of wage theft going on in that industry. Luckily I never had it happen to me but I've heard plenty of stories of people being contracted for jobs and then never being paid or companies being weeks or even months behind on pay roll and sometimes even going under and the employees left shit outta luck
shoplifting is ok i dont know what your fucking problem is
I will believe that "The children crave the mines" when the new tiktok trend is becoming a prospector.
As An economist, I can say he said little of value.
I think I missed the point, Thoughslime says that it's morally better to steal from your local pop and mom store, than it is to steal from global corporations? Am I getting this right? What the fuck man?
Going to have to ask the americans. What crimes exist in america that are hate crimes but wouldnt be crimes should the same action be undertaken without hatred?
So discrimination on the basis of race, is illegal but it doesnt require hatred, a sincere belief that white people are incompetent and therefore not hiring any because they are white, would be illegal. Whether a hate crime or not, its a 'normal' crime regardless.
So what does thought slime mean when he talks about justifying hate crime but not normal crime, crimes arent crimes just because a corporation cares about it, itsd a legal question.
