INSANE Ferrari Upgrades For Singapore GP!

INSANE Ferrari Upgrades For Singapore GP!

Every Formula One fan gets excited when they hear one word from their team. Upgrades! Formula One cars change quite drastically during the course of a season with teams better understanding the designs of their new cars and adapting them to different tracks trying to increase performance. Usually, fans focus on the upgrades that the bigger teams bring, but in this new era where cars have been able to follow each other closely and even midfield teams occasionally find pace, the field is wide open. The battle for upgrades hasn’t ended yet even though it looks like the championships have both been wrapped up. There are still a few intriguing questions concerning upgrades. Will the Ferrari upgrades stop Max Verstappen from breaking the record for most wins in a season? Can Mercedes bring upgrades to Singapore that will continue Lewis Hamilton’s stunning record of winning a race every season? What next for the big three in terms of car development? And finally, will Red Bull finally introduce their rumored lighter chassis that is set to stun the paddock and increase their performance to untouchable level?

Ferrari perhaps will look at this season with the most regret after frankly designing a car that scared their rivals. The F1-75 will be looked at fondly as a car that was unusual in many ways; it could literally reach peak performance in any track – low or high downforce, long or short straights. In any type of weather condition, they could heat their tires and compete under any circumstance. They were the fastest car for a good portion of the season until all of that changed in Hungary where after an impressive Friday, they simply lost all pace from Saturday qualifying to a poor Mercedes and have seemingly never gotten it back since. One of the reasons that has been speculated on the grid is that when previously, it didn’t take much for the tires on the F1-75 to get to optimum temperature, now they wear out too fast and during a full race, this bleeds pace from them. The performance in Monza was a bit more encouraging with Charles Leclerc securing pole ahead of Max Verstappen and Ferrari will want to build on that. So, which upgrades do Ferrari feel they can bring to remedy the situation and secure a few more wins this season even if the titles are out of their reach?

  1. It's hard to say, but it looks like Mercedes' last best chance for a race win this year has come and gone. If Max can pull out a win in Singapore, I don't know if there's anyplace anyone else can challenge him. I think his streak is going to come down to mechanical/accidents.

  2. Guys let's get this clear Merc is only truly competitive in 3 or 4 races maximum. Even Silverstone had Max not had the Yuki piece under, he'd probably be miles ahead.

Merc need to swallow their pride and adapt concept

  3. Mercedes will not get a race win on pace this year. But with some luck they could win a race when the championships are allready decided.
Singapore is a street circuit so probably too bumpy to be even close to a win.
