Even though President Joe Biden won’t be on the ballot in November, voters will still be weighing his legacy.
In an address to the American people, Biden explained his decision to step down at the end of his presidential term, championed his successes in office, and laid out his agenda over the next half year.
KOMO News political analyst Ron Dozauer of Strategies 360 joined anchors Molly Shen and Preston Phillips to react to Biden’s speech.

The only (suggested) explanation for Biden's decision, not to run for re-election but to step aside, was the need for a united Democratic Party, which has not been united since the 27 June debate.
So, given the supposedly existential threat of an end to "our democracy" (meaning, an overthrow of the continued rule by the Democratic Party), Biden is obliged to step aside in order to unite the party.
Now, whether the rest of us find it "democratic" or not, the Party is indeed united, behind Kamala Harris.
