Patch 12.12 is one of the biggest patches in Escape From Tarkov history. There were so many things that fundamentally changed the game and one of the biggest ones is the addition of Inertia to the player movement. Now that we have had it for a few days and had some time to mess with it I wanted to make a video outlining how it is affecting PVP in Tarkov and give some tips for how to be more successful. Have you been getting used to the Inertia in Tarkov? Has it affected your pvp fights?
I love the new mechanic. I'm not a fan of super twitchy playstyle, and I feel the new system is much more dynamic. People can still be very aggressive, but slower paced is now also more viable. With that in my mind, the most significant improvement, is that single fire guns, are now viable again! Which is something I absolutely love, since some of my favorite guns are single fire.
Glad jiggle peaking is essentially gone now, made fights cheese IMO
I think it’s doing what people in real life try to do. Back up and take smaller slices.
I started playing super late last wipe. I can’t believe how much easier it is when everyone is around the same progression. The game is so much more enjoyable when not everyone is running a laser beam.
Inertia makes movement more natural. Excellent addition to EFT
I don't get to play that much because of my work schedule but I honestly didn't have too much of a problem with adjusting. Maybe that's precisely why my muscle memory was already less ingrained and so the switch wasn't as difficult but personally, I've had no problem with it.
The best part of inertia is the tears from all the sweaty Chad's.
Definitely sucks not having buddies to play with. I guess I'm a solo looser:) But I've been running into 4-5 mans non-stop and having no chance; just hope to hide and not get found.
My k/d has shot up immensely now that inertia has been implemented. I always had a more tactical and slower play style and I feel that inertia has actually led me to be more willing to make aggresive plays now that my character feels more grounded as opposed to the slippery vibe it had before. I remember I was playing insurgency sandstorm and tried to come back into tarkov during 12.11 and the difference in movement just ruined it for me. 12.12 is so much better!
I've been giving my suggestions to Batterstate Games but they keep having crazy replies
Inertia was possibly the best thing they have ever added to the game. Even after im level 20 strength and endurance i feel like it needs to be tuned down. Maybe not across the board but especially if you are under 30kg. Crank it to the moon if you are over like 50kg. Make it progressively more difficult to athletically move the more heavy you get. IMO at the end of the day it is a game, if im running around in 10kg on a scav i shouldnt be boating. If im 80kg i should be a fkn yatch.
The recoil change i believe was a good one, but maybe heavy handed. Kind of like inertia, roll it back a bit. Im cool with auto weapons being tougher to control than before, but they seem almost too erratic. The horizontal recoil is a bit much. The vertical i think is fine for the smaller calibers but a but much on the larger calibers. SA-58/FAL feels awful and does not have even come close to that amount of recoil irl.
I think it comes down to my idea is probably to make skills matter less? Like level 25 should be baseline, particularly for recoil control, strength, endurance, health and vitality.
Peekers advantage. Repeaking is the worst move. Periodt. True statement before. Even more true now.
Click bait this didnt tell me a thing
You are the best Tarkov teacher to me.
It's very exciting to see, where this wipe is taking us. I have a hard time this wipe, not surviving much raids, but I still have so much fun.
I really do enjoy the inertia system. It feels good when u are super overencumbered and your character is a BOAT
Ever since inertia I can kill chads without them b hopping no scope head eyes me. It’s a nice change lol
Side strafing while looting is for cunts and unrealistic. I love they nerfed it
Massive fan of inertia. It's changed the pace of PVP and rewards positioning and holding angles more than ADAD spam and jiggle peaking.
The stamina drop/delay while moving down off rocks/etc is pretty annoying, but aside from that I don't have too many complaints
there is a specific type of jiggle peek that still works this wipe. Even with inertia on. You lean, and then press either A or D and don't release the button until the step animation is done. You can quickly peek an angle and get back into cover.
Inertia is amazing! Makes this game more realistic. Tactics and holding angles is key.
Last time i played was almost a year ago and i always hoped they added inertia, i stwrted playing again few days ago and im so glad they added this
Inertia should be static across all levels and soft skills. It's not really something you overcome once you get max skills. They need to tune it back and to prevent the crazy parkour people were doing /sprinting everywhere. It needs to be dialed in and driving the boat while on ice skates needs to go.
bro I tried to peek like the old times on my first raid without knowing this inertia thing, its a cool add to the game because it change a lot the way u fight but im so sad to relearn everything when I was just getting better and better last wipe
inertia is horrible imo
This definitely made ratting much more prevalent
As always. Great content.
I notice that I have more success with playing aggressive when I take more right handed peaks as well. Try to take advantage of it whenever you can, even if it is a small one 🙂
So more or less. Tarkov is finally reaching the point it was always supposed to.
I think BSG allowed alot of the high octance CS:go like behaviour to exist simply because they needed players. Now Nikitia is probably asking himself. "Alright, what type of game did I set out to make, and how would I do it" Its been a long time coming and good riddance.
only problem with this new system is that it promotes camping
Never have I seen the community come together so positively and agree that tarkov has made a great leap of progress.
Inertia is dogshit. Doesn't matter if you're able to get used to it or not. This actually shouldn't have been added, and since it wont be removed, it needs to be nerfed. This game was clunky before this update.
YouTube didn’t put this in front of me for 6 days – lame YouTube lame
Honestly this is something that they have needed at add for a while. I got sick of the peakers advantage and I stopped playing for a while. But this makes it more realistic and fixes a lot of the issue. I am now back to playing again
o long there is no adad spam its fine
