  1. It could be that Anthony Richardson has a toolbox full of hammers: little tack hammers, ball peen hammers, framing hammers, claw hammers of various sizes and colors and weights… He road pine the first two years of his college career, starting one season as a Junior, in which his team was 6 wins and 7 losses.

He finished his career, including spot play as a Freshman and Sophomore, with 24 TDs against 15 picks — which is more or less unacceptable ratio in the NFL — with a grand total of only 3,100 yards in the air and a completion percentage of 54.7%.

Does he have quick decision-making ability? Can he read sophisticated coverages? Can he stand strong against a rush by people bigger than him and just as fast? Does he have the touch necessary to make short throws? We'll see.

Look: maybe he'll be alright in a year or two and maybe he won't. That proposition is no better than a coin toss. But with a drunk-uncle owner that has already anointed him as a future billionaire and the truly ridiculous level of hype being generated by the Indy media, it is impossible to keep that in mind.

The Colts have got a couple fine physical spec-i-mines suiting up at Tight End already. That hasn't really accomplished much outside of providing a hunky team picture.

  2. Kent, the 60k question?? Why would the Colts sign Matty Ryan with "no tools"? Seven years straight with a different starting quarterback. Jimmy Irsay fired Peyton Manning. This is a Colts team with vanilla ownership and liver tasting GM.
Don't forget Tony Richardson had 17 TDs 9 INTs – 5th in the conference – 6-7 record last year with all the tools.
    Happy optimism Wednesday! 😊

  3. Kent, I would just like to say, as someone who searches "Colts news" everyday before work, you're top of the list every time. You definitely deserve some respect for that. Because of that, I will try to tune in more often during the season.

  4. Reason I think the colts bounce back quickly – last year we really were only bad bc our offense was off the field so easy , I believe w stechein the offense will b explosive and we will finally score points

  5. Now that the hype has kind worn off for me, im able to watch AR film and see thestuff you want to ignore. Im all in on AR but hes got ALOT of work in front of him, just to see if hes worth continuing to invest in. First and foremost on that list is his accuracy issues. Maybe they can scheme around it i guess we will see
