Of you think this one is out there, then wait till you watch #5. Plus #5 is long. Sometimes, these movie franchises don't know when to quit. It's like beating a dead horse
🥰🤗🐰 Your looking good.
The Ark was in the warehouse in the beginning
It's not as good as the first three
But it's still watchable and it's good to see Indy and Marion back together and ford still looks good in the action scenes
The thing is it's no more unbelievable than the other three
With there religious themes
The ark stones and grail cup
They are based on the pulp adventures of the 30s and 40s
I personally find this a fun adventure and way better than the second one
Hi Cassie, welcome to 4's month! Harrison was the best part of the film, nice seeing Karen Allen reprise her role. Yes, not the most beloved movie, but it was something.
I thought it would have been a cool nod to Sir Sean Connery, if at the end, Indy said, "Why don't you stick around junior? You're just becoming interesting.", which harkins back to Henry Sr.'s comment on board the Nazi blimp about when Indy left home.
That scorpion thing is true. The smaller they are, the more toxic their sting is. Don't ask me why.
The second half of this movie jumps the shark but the first half is pretty good (if you can ignore the refrigerator silliness).
After watching Temple of Doom, this is a masterpiece… I can't fathom the criticisms like "it's campy". If you have eyes and ears you know that this is exactly as campy as the other ones, or perhaps less campier.
Do you not remember your American history? Indiana Jones is set in the past. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time…the testing of the first Atom bomb. The little town was setup to see how it would affect it. As you saw, nothing was left of the town.
Dial of Destiny is worth a watch at least once.
The first four movies were filmed before Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012. Only the fifth movie, in my books, is a Disney movie.
The opening gambit of this one is great and in line and tradition with the franchise. The ending of the movie is terrible. And then you have Shia swinging on cgi vines lol.
20:07 what? Did I miss something?
Well.. I'm a massive Indiana Jones fan, and I think film number 3 is the worst one of them all.. My favorites are 1, 4, 2, 5, Young Indy series and then number 3..
This idea generally tegaurded as the worst of the first four Indiana Jones Giles although it was nice to see Karen Allen return but worse was to come in that alleged joke of a monpvoe Indiana Jones and the Dyali of Destiny wjicj was so bad it ended the franchise fot good and and although thi film wasn't great it was 100 times better than its sequel.
They killed Shia Indiana Jones son off before the travesty that was the fifth Indiana Jones film.
Thr fridge saving him from the nuclear explosion is when this film Jumped the shark.
Such a shame as tge original trilogy of films had the perfect ending.
I think they set out to make a Indy movie that would feel like a Disney ride adventure.
The LEAST memoriable ,"Indie" movie…and I did not see Dial of Destiny .
"Where is a wipe while you need one? That´s what she said". 😀
29:48 by far my favorite part of the reaction
can i ask a favour ?…
could you please use more critical thinking about mainstream claims ..?
Finally ! every reaction to this film was spot on
I was SO with you when you said "this may be too much" when Mutt started swinging on the vines with the monkeys. That sadly ended it for me for any new Indy movies.
It’s called an amphibious vehicle, meaning it can do land or water. There are s few vehicles that can do this. How awesome would it be to drive that to work. Traffic jam, no worries, there’s the River.
I had hoped they would move forward with Dr Jones movies with Shia but that never happened. Then Shia kinda hit a rough patch. Anyway, this one has a lot of great elements then some really bad. It definitely has a different feel to it. As always, great reaction. Thanks for what you do.
Where is TERMINATOR 4 ))
"I like Ike" was a very famous campaign slogan for President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who would have been starting his second term in 1957. Just a little off-handed comment added to remind you of the time period.
Yes, the movie is weird with these aliens. But many did not understand the point. The film was shot in the spirit of the 60s, the times of Area 51 and the dawn of the hunt for aliens. That's why the movie is like this)
Indy 4 is a really good movie and a gen and definitly has a place among the others❤️
I like Ike was a catchphrase for Dwight D Eisenhower during the presidential election in the 50s. Ike was his nickname
Lol “he was jumping out of planes with a duck..or something…” well he may as well have
I remember leaving the theater after seeing this and I was sad. It just didn’t do it for me. I saw 2&3 in the theater and loved both and expected to love this one as well. Instead, this movie replaced the phrase “jumped the shark” with “nuked the fridge”
I actually really enjoyed this one
At one point you said something to the effect of, "That was a bit much." That's a good synopsis of this film. It was a little too far down the road of… cheese? Camp? Like the freaking groundhogs. You're right there too. No point and cartoonish. Same with the monkey swinging. It's not a terrible film, but it sure ain't good.
So inndy is the dad on the bike now
“we seem to have reached the age where life stops giving us things and starts taking them away”
Im living that now… very insightful and painful
Cassie, you got your wish vis-a-vis Indy and Marion.
FYI, those weren't gophers, they were prairie dogs.
Oh damn, how great was Shrinking!? Glad youve seen that, amazing show
Age Of Adeline is one id recommend, Ford is in that too although not the star… its a proper romance thing and scifi. You and your sister will love it
I love this movie. This is the true ending for Indy, NOT Dial of Destiny.
