Kill indy, replace with female, wat a surprise
1969 – a big parade in some american city….? It´s the parade for Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins (Apollo 11), obviously.
A time travel plot COULD work really well as some sort of spin off, imho. It would be wild, in the sense that all realism would go out of the window, but otoh, we´d get to see indy (preferably played by a new actor, no disrespect for Ford, though) play around with mythical artifacts at the time they were actually (?) used. Like make him dabble with the apparatus of kythera when it was new and explore the mystery of its origin (like: who built it, why, and was there only one?). Let him witness the arc of the covenant being used in battle. Let him step on the hills of golgatha and have a gaze at the cross. Let him be the one who retrives the shroud of turin from the tomb. Let him sneak into the roman senate on the ides of march of 44bc and then collect brute´s dagger. Stuff like that. With a little epilogue at the end of each episode, telling the audience where facts ended end and fantasy began (being respectful to religious beliefs), there could even be some educational value to it all.
That being said: To me the central mac-guffin of any good indy-movie is something i heard of before i heard anything about the movie – an already existing myth. The arc of the covenant and the holy grail — they "existed" way before indy was a thing. And that´s the allure. That goes partially for the crystal skull as well, though, personally, i find that to be a rather "weak artifact". It´s "meh". The "dial of destiny" though? That´s literally not a thing. At least none i ever heard about. Maybe more interesting would be a mythical artifact outside of christian/western mythology – one i never heard of, alright, but that is nonetheless "known" by millions elsewhere. Just give me a scene to teach me about it at the start. Correct me if i am wrong but the "dial of destiny" is nothing like that, right? They just straight up made it up, right? TBH, if i was in chrage, i would probably just do a big-screen adaptation of the team-path of the game "fate of atlantis". Cause: Atlantis. That was a thing. Maybe. (Probably not).
these were my exact thoughts about the prospects of the movie. I also feel that going down the time travel path is a cheat card and I am very curious if it's going to be just a flashback or a large chunk of the plot. Thank you, Dan 🙂
Speaking of Indiana Jones, when are they gonna reboot Jaws? We need a new trilogy. As popular as the franchise was back in the 70's and 80's, it's weird that the franchise just fizzled out after the godawful 4th installment, Jaws: The Revenge. As reboot/remake happy Hollywood is these days I really think we're ready for a new Jaws.
I'm VERY worried about what I'm hearing with this movie 😶 If true, this could well sink Disney.
Goddammit Dan, you're anything but boring
trying to make the copse get up and dance one more time
Disney cancer infecting every good franchise.
Trailer Breakdown & Reactions, a new thing for this channel. I like it 😉
What movie used the time travel bit where u didn't physically go back in time when time traveling but u future u woke up in ur past conscience? Hence u could only go back as far in time as u were alive in. Maybe it's that kinda time travel? I'm down for whatever. Except for someone taking up the mantle. Just let Indy die with Ford
Feel like ya shoulda just gone ahead and wore the Fedora Dan !
I'm going to go ahead and get out in front in saying this doesn't look very good.
crazy to me that anyone with a rational brain would be excited by this. I feel like I noped out of all this terrible reboot/way too old sequel stuff late, and that was when robocop came out. Im embarrassed it took me that long to stop being hopeful that something like this would be good. Yet people in 2022/23 are like "yeah, this looks like itll be good! Sala was in the trailer! Remember Sala!?"
Lets make new movies. Please. Pleeeease. PPPLEEEAAASE!
I guess they abandoned the Mutt and Marion storyline. Good. Crystal Skull doesn’t exist to me.
Indiana Jones without Nazis is like a car without wheels.
I love the title of the movie or maybe I just really love Tenacious D. “CAUSE IT’S THE DIAL! Of Destiny child. You know where we’ll be rockin’ cause it’s f@&$/!g insane! IT’S JUST THE DIAL! Of Destiny child. Our tasty grooves are better than a chicken chow mein!
they go back to world war 2 and a young indiana jones is gonna be killed, literally erasing him from history. same deal as what they did to luke skywalker. kathleen kennedy needs to go to jail for crimes against popculture
Who even wanted them to make this movie? I don't think many wanted Krystal Skull I know I haven't seen it since I finally made it through the first time. So now we have The last, Last Crusade that no one asked for. I've heard they're going to try to erase Indy from all of his adventures. Also that they throw in the old stand by time travel. Say what you want about me but I think Riding off into the sunset was the perfect ending. I want this movie to do good. If it does I'll go watch it several times and take people with me. Im just worried a lot.
If this is really the last Harrison Ford Indiana Jones movie, I think it needs to pack an emotional punch. Meaning, Indiana Jones dies but passes the mantle to the next generation.
Time travel? Maybe but I don’t think the Mads character would die his hair black for the journey because we definitely saw 2 different hair colors.
