  1. The movie was pointless and should never have been made, but I had more fun than I thought I would. I kept waiting for it to get as bad as some said it was, but it never did. It was perfectly adequate.

  2. The whole purpose of movie trailers is to sell the movie. If the trailer looks bad then people usually come to the conclusion that its bad. The trailer and everything ive see and heard about this movie looks bad. So people who haven't seen it can have and share their opinion on this movie. Its kinda like crack. I've never tried crack but from what I've seen/heard it's bad. Don't think I or anyone else has to smoke it first before having a opinion on it.

  3. The 1944 opening is arguably a 'call back' to the 1912 sequence of 'Crusade' – a prequel within a sequel.

Whatever the film itself, the review by Oliver is splendid – keep up the work! 👍

  4. "… handeled with respect and care." Which movie have you watched? This movie is a disgrace. And I wonder how much, Oliver? The ass kissing access media makes some money, I have heard. Bullshit review for a bullshit movie. Let the box office numbers come in.

  5. I do not agree with you mr #OliverHarper. There are three different films here, edited together to please everyone involved plus a tacked on ending seeing Helena Shaw snagg the fedora as the iris closes in on it. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was a better farewell and happier one!

  6. I really liked it. Decent popcorn movie with plenty of nods to the past. Moves above Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull (5th place) and Temple Of Doom (4th place) in my list with The Last Crusade being in top spot

  7. I don't know how to feel about Spielberg directing another Indy, on one hand, this is his franchise, but on the other hand, he seems less interested in doing Adventure films anymore, hell even when he does try to do fantasy (BFG) or Sci-Fi (Ready Player One) it feels phoned in

  8. I just saw it in the cinema and thought it was great. It is unnecessary and absurd in concept but done very well in writing and story. The beginning and ending action scenes "took me out" looking green-screeny and computery (though "young" Indy looked 95% believable). But the two chases in the middle looked great (real). Movie was not really preachy, dialogue was not 2023 either.

  9. It was a mess great opening showed promise. The score lacked the slap stick fun when the big fight went off. Tutt Tutt scene wasn't fun. It was a bit joyless and the sloppy ending was disappointing. Indies dad in Last Crusade showed how an older Indy could be still fun and clever indy was mostly upstaged during this movie.

  10. I don't know what you're talking about, this film was horrible! They completely ruined Indy, just like Luke Skywalker and every other beloved character. At least the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull didn't butcher his character, this movie was pathetic. All of these sequels decades after the originals just want to make the men pathetic and disgruntled losers. Indy isn't some mild mannered and timid fool. He's charming and charismatic. I can't stand this movie, it didn't even make sense half the time. These writers need to go back to school and learn to research these characters before taking the job and killing everything great about them.

  11. character gets happy ending with wife and son.

character loses son, which causes marriage to fall apart.

character becomes detached, disinterested & depressed. a failure.

= both indiana jones & han solo.

  12. I really liked the first four Indiana Jones, but this one did not work for me, it lacked Spielberg energy and comic timing in action scenes. James Mangold comes from the Jonathan Mostow, David Yates school of filmmaking and this film has all the same lack of energy and excitement as Terminator 3 or the later day Harry Potter movies or Fantastic Beasts had, washed out, dark cinematography, bad pacing and to long a runtime that it wears out it welcome.

  13. OK, expectations management must be key here. Otherwise, I’d have to consider other motivations behind a fundamentally positive review of IJATDOD by a film critique with such a vast experience like Mr. Harper. Completely ignoring the obvious ideology driven agenda behind the production in the process. It just doesn’t sound right. 🤨

  14. 100% DISAGREE this was such a bad film and a horrible send off for Indiana Jones…….this one makes Kingdom of the Crystal Skull looks like a MASTERPIECE in comparison…………hell the entire Kathleen Kennedy era makes every mediocre George Lucas film looks like masterpieces in comparison now….I guess he had a plan after all when he put a Uncreativeness hack as Kennedy on charge…genius move George I respect that.

  15. We have heard that this movie WAS about Helena taking over, not about Indy at all… which comes off way too much as you even mentioned. Which as well puts off the whole movie, and the fact that we are supposed to care for her character when she doesnt even care for Indy at all… just comes off as an upset and contrasts everything we've seen before in the series. Just bad writing

  16. Such a step up from crystal skull, Helena wasn’t as annoying as I thought she’d be, I normally don’t like de aging but this from what I saw seemed great. The ending yes was a little weird but better then aliens 😆. And mads
Mikkleson was great as the villain but a poor death scene. All in I’d say 7/10

  17. George Lucas used the ending from one of the episodes of Amazing Stories titled "The Rift." The WW2 pilot flies his plane through a rift in the sky back to the past after he ends up trapped in the future. The whole Dial of Destiny was a lazy writers tool to attempt a time travel element and waste money on de-aging Indy when it wasn't necessary. The role should've been re-cast. If Kathleen Kennedy actually did her fxcking job and searched for good skilled acting talent (Brandon Sklenar), this series could've gone forward with some new adventures. I love Harrison Ford. Always have. But he had a great ending in Crystal Skull, even though that movie was a bit of a turd. He gets married to Marion. Mutt seems to be back on track and he's walking out of a church wearing his hat. It's all good.

  18. I enjoyed it. Some scenes were a bit longer then they should be, and the CG could be a bit wonk at times, but it was a fun story. I wish there was more time to explore the wild concepts that were brought up in the third act. I genuinely had no idea where it was going at the end.
