Indiana Jones 5 Is LucasFilm's Downfall

Indiana Jones 5 or Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny or whatever silly name you want to call it made it’s way to the Cannes Film Festival last week, and boy were the results disastrous. The latest attempt by LucasFilm to destr-I mean “modernize” another franchise sends Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones on his final adventure. By the looks of it, seems like he’ll be going out in shame seeing how the movie was so bad people were whispering out of boredom.

Modern critics were supposed to love Indiana Jones 5 because of Phoebe Waller-Bridge and her “comedy”, not to mention the fact that she’s most likely replacing Indiana Jones. To see that even they hate it means LucasFilm made a movie solely to shill to an audience that couldn’t care less. That’s a bad sign for any movie, but for one with a $300 million budget? Well, that spells box office dud in bright neon letters for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

  1. "Don't look at it, Marion. Shut your eyes. Don't look at Disney Lukelessfilm's Indy 5, no matter what happens."
Letting KK oversee new Lucasfilm content is like letting Marcy D'Arcy be the showrunner of Psycho Dad.

  2. Trump Derangement Syndrome is what caused Hollywood to shift its focus from making money to making agitprop. The deep state feared it was losing its grip on the ignorant masses after the MAGAcaust and decided to double down on the anti-white, anti-male, anti-capitalism brainwashing. Now it's finally starting to backfire.

  3. Crystal Skull was crap, and unneeded. Now we have an old man running around and some talentless woman in it. I cannot stand Phoebe talentless Bridge, and with her in the film, I will give it a miss. Indy is a trilogy, not 4, not 5 – 3 films! Like Star Wars – a trilogy episodes 4, 5, 6!

  5. I think Ford wanted to put the character to sleep. Now we have an extremely unlikable woman in the role.

So, Ford gets a nice paycheck and he laughs at us on the way out.

  6. Blah blah blah….Haters masquerading as fans to get views is pathetic. The movie is actually getting good reviews from the people and critics I trust. Most of the "fans" shitting on this movie havent seen it, and have already decided to hate it. True fans….SMH

  7. I think that it's ironic that just shy of 30 years ago, Disney was the gold standard for movies and TV, but now they can barely make a decent film anymore.

Really shows how far they've fallen.

  8. If the woke Disney want strong, lesbian women to dominate their movies, let them create all new characters and franchises – then let the paying public decide. I think they know, without a doubt, how that will end – not good financially. RIP Indiana Jones – it was a wild ride, while it lasted. Thanks for the memories.

  9. All these "review channels" are unable to think for themselves before they even see the film. They only see things as good or bad but are too lazy to look at films in depth. I love the first three Indy films but there are certainly moments of bad stuff but that doesn't make the films bad themselves. Dial of Destiny will have some bad, good, and some great moments for sure. So just believe it is best to see it for yourself rather than hold pitchforks at disney just cause people on the internet want you to.

  10. Every Comedian/writer has a style, very few can switch or cover numerous styles, think back to the greats like Gene Wilder, he was funny & successful basically playing the same character, no one had a problem with him in any of his movies, you knew what you were going to get and he delivered.
The issue is he wasn't shoehorned into Movies outside of his 'character' just because he was successful, likewise Mel Brooks wasn't hired to edit the script or give ideas for Deliverance or The Omen.
Studios have got lazy not just churning out sequeal/prequels and thinking it's a cheap formula for success but hiring in anyone that's had a 'hit' and including them in a genre they simply don't suit.
It's like hiring Hugh Grant to be the next 007, why? Unless you wanted Bond to appear as a tongue tied, blushing, middle aged 'teenager' stumbling over his words, and being awkward in every situation he found himself in.

  11. "Signals to virtue"?
Well, Kathleen Kennedy gets everything ass-backwards, so…
I see what you did there!
Good commentary – expresses my (and many millions other's) feelings perfectly.
[And maybe – I'm going to whisper this – maybe this will finally be the KK Killer!?!?)
