  1. Howdy friends! Author of the story & voice of Dr. Rawlings & B the Curator TJ Lea/Dusk here, just want to leave some notes about the piece for those curious:

First & foremost thank you so, so much to Ronnie for continuing to take a chance on this. It’s easily the most experimental work i’ve ever done & it only gets weirder from here! Ronnie is the best collaborator i have ever worked with and a dear friend, who I owe so much to. Thank you to Spirit Voices for an amazing performance and to Rom for lending her iconic voice too

To fully follow along with the books narrative (which right now is still developing) I do recommend starting with chapter 1 β€œthe graves we dig” as these are chapters 2 & 3 respectively. I know that this topic will not appeal to everyone but my hope is that more Sturgeon combined with weird fiction will grab enough peoples attention.

    SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 2 & 3:

The aim of Chapter 2 was to try and encapsulate psychosis & gaslighting, i wanted to express the feelings of desperation when trying to reach someone who will recognise your fears but instead disregards you. The cliffhanger ending is 100% intentional & it gets resolved in later chapters, we’re playing a long game here πŸ˜‰

Chapter 3 The Wound Of Golgotha was such a fun piece to write as I love art history & got to channel that passion into Sturgeons growing history, pushing the plot of the antlion forward. I hope I did ok with my descriptive language since art isn’t my forte!

If you love this or my other works, please consider checking out Dusklight Radio for dedicated Sturgeon content & keeping an eye out for the next chapter of the book. This has been my passion for 2 years & i’m excited to share it with the word

    With love,

    TJ/Dusk

  3. So this happened randomly yesterday and just curious if it’s still here, there was a video that used to be on here I believe where, in the story, the Daisy Bell song was sang at a few points, what was the name of that video? And is it still here?
I got randomly reminded about it yesterday when I was talking to someone and that part of the story, for some reason came into my mind.

  5. These don't normally have much of an effect on me, but this one definitely made me feel uncomfortable! Excellent work with the sound effects! I've been waiting to actually feel creeped out for a long time now!

  6. It's taken me yesterday and today to get 3/4 of the way through this. I guess maybe I'm going through horrible grief and it's hard to get into stuff now? I felt like the description of all the paintings took forever.

  7. My gut completely flopped when the genderless bathroom comment was made. I was afraid that yet another creator I came to trust for the community they keep, ended up hating a part of me. Although it seems to happen non-stop i'm still not used to it :,)

Coming to the comments I found a reply from TJ where they explain how the bigotry in the story is a reflection of how easily people can slip into hatred towards another human being. Those words wrapped me in a sadness of relief and understanding. I'm so exhausted and thank you for nott giving me another reason to

  8. I haven't listened to this one yet, just came over here specifically from a horror narration of somebody else because it missed something.

you were the first one I started listening to on yt so I assume I kind of got used to the incredible effort you put in with the music, the sound effects, the different distances (?) you make your voices sound like in different situations, and of course the different voice actors.
I don't think I ever appreciated you enough for that.

but just now with that story from the other artist (no shade, not everyone has the time or the means to produce on such levels) I realized listening to your stories is like having found the best recipe for your favorite dish.

  9. What a s**t brother she has. I'd give anything to speak to my brother again but I can't he passed away unexpectedly 3 years ago. He was only 33 years old!! I would've had half a lifetime with him and NOW I DON'T!! Never take your siblings for granted. You Never know til it's too late. I didn't even get to say goodbye.

  10. The trans metaphor present throughout these stories wasn't lost on me, the discomfort in ones skin and wanting to shed it like a cicada to become new and beautiful, the monologue of the mc seeing themselves as they wished to be seen by others in the mirror only to have it taken away…. it gave me chills and as a nonbinary person (who's also deeply fascinated by angels) I connect to it Immensely. Thank you TJ and Ronnie for the incredible tales πŸ’• looking forward to more from this series and the book release!!
