"In Just Five Days: Bullied to Death”

Bullying in 2022 comes in many forms, and the internet continues to be the most popular way to deliver this toxic and cruel behavior. Bullying is a severe threat to a child’s self-esteem and mental health. Being targeted by a cyberbully can increase the risk of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, feelings of worthlessness, and, most tragically, suicide. But not all bullying is long-term. In fact, the heavy psychological toll this kind of harassment takes can often be swift. Meet Cheryl and Hunter, whose 16-year-old daughter, McKenna, took her own life after being bullied by four girls she thought were her friends. They say that after less than five days of being bullied, McKenna could no longer cope and made the tragic decision to take her own life. The parents say their daughter went to shower on a Saturday evening, and they never saw her alive again.  (21312)

  1. Dr Phil, please have the bully on your show. I would like to see if a bully have the guts to appear on your show and tell the world why they bully and what they get out of bullying. How they feel after hearing the person they bullied died. Do they have remorse or do they feel proud of them selves.

  3. I attempted suicide multiple times due to cyber bullying and my parents would go to the police showing the messages and comments and all the profiles of the people. posts and they said they would look into it and nothing happened. But what would happened was my profile would get reported for every reason people could have as an option and my profile would get taken down by the website. Which happened with one of the worst situations which might have gotten the police to actually do something but because I had nothing to show because my profiles were gone I had no proof.

  4. I hate this happened to this young lady but let me get this straight. They did NOT like her because she started dating one of their friends. They said something about her, they told everyone what she did… . Then those friends ALL got together and did NOT invite her……….

  5. Parents of bullies need to be held accountable just as much as schools and sports teams – more so, in fact!! Most cyber bullying does not take place during school hours or team-time but rather, on parental watch. If you don't know where your teen's cyber playgrounds are; who they are hanging out with; what they are doing and when; or how they are behaving and why; then you are grossly negligent in your parental obligations. Shoving blame on schools and sport clubs is a cop-out and an abdication of responsibility.

  6. I was badly bullied from 3rd to 7th grade until I learned how to disappear. Reading "Lord of the Flies " in school was probably a well intended choice by my English teacher, but I felt it was too close true the truth if put in similar circumstances. I probably would have killed myself if internet social media sites had been around back then. Bullying effected me for many years after the fact. Why are so many children so horrible? Bullying is not a new thing. My brother and sister were also tormented in the early to mid 70's. The bullies used rocks, threats, bikelocks on chains and after school ambushes. I learned to hide in the library after school or go to the bathroom by the gym. Bullies never went there.

  7. I was bullied before the internet. Some people say that if these people knew what had happened because of their bullying they would feel terrible.
BS! If they cared about people they would not have done it in the first place.

  8. The bestr way ro defeat a bully is to not care what they say about you. If they put their hands on you, stand up for yourself regardless if you will win or not. ALWAYS FIGHT TO SURVIVE.
