The Tories claimed the “majority” of the 1.5 million new homes Labour is planning to build over the next five years will be needed to house immigrants.
Kevin Hollinrake, the shadow housing secretary, made the claim as he responded to the Government’s liberalisation of planning rules.
Matthew Pennycook, the housing and planning minister, accused Mr Hollinrake of “scaremongering”.
“He knows those rules. He is scaremongering. It is beneath him. I know that the honourable gentleman doesn’t really believe it.”

I honestly thought banning 1st cousin marriage was something the whole house would have agreed on. Apparently not.
