Imran Khan Talks Cricket, the Taliban and Being Ousted from Power | VWN Meets

Pakistan is in the middle of political chaos — and one man is at the center of it all. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was ousted last year in a no-confidence vote, but polls suggest he remains the country’s most popular political leader.

Within a year of being removed from office, 70-year-old Khan has survived an assassination attempt and faces dozens of new charges ranging from corruption, terrorism to sedition. The current government has branded the popular politician known for his philanthropy and cricket career as a “militant” and attempted to arrest him using excessive force, while tear gassing, attacking and arresting his supporters. Khan believes the charges against him are political persecution tactics meant to distract him from campaigning for elections due this year.

VICE World News’ Isobel Yeung sat down with Khan at his home in Lahore on March 6, 2023.

  2. 13:00 is THE BEST! answer to all the blind feminists who misuse everything to their liking and purpose ! the rule is simple "IF U ARE GOOD ENOUGH YOU WILL GET THE LUXURY OF BEING IN GOVT." i mean even the reporter needs to understand that world doesnt work alone on feminism ! you need "CAPABLE" people not "FEMALES ONLY" agenda to run a job or govt.

  3. So where in the Quran (chapter and verse) it says, "women should stay inside of home only and never go out". The first wife of the prophet Mohammed was a successful business woman, you think she did that by just staying inside?. We hair of stories where woman fought in the battle fields for Islam, how did that happen if the prophet did not allow that. Islam does not make us prisoners, rather it sets us free; a free will with the understanding of consequences. You can only fool the illiterate and the ignorant.

  5. Imran Khan while Pakistan prime minister could have remained silent on China's repression of Uyghurs (and ethnic Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Xinjiang Hui, and Utsuls) if he thinks his hands are tied politically, but instead he went out of his way to openly endorse China's oppression of Muslims in June 2021.

Then in March 2022 Imran Khan made the absurd statement that "China follows the teachings of the Prophet [Muhammad]". The CCP which is an atheist regime that has persecuted Muslims for its entire existence, and which has only gotten several times worse under Xi Jinping, is apparently following the teachings of the Prophet! And you wonder why he's been humiliated by Allah ever since. The guy is living through purgatory on earth right now because martyrdom is a luxury he doesn't deserve.

  6. The naivety of many people in the comments shows me clearly how humanity simply repeats cycles. The unwavering faith in a figure, the attraction to a speech, the hope and relief of trusting someone who can transform their own life and that of their country. These are recurring themes in human history and in the individual psyche. Everywhere, from left to right, in democracies and in tyrannies, people tend to be enchanted by possibilities and let themselves be carried away by their own expectations.

Deep State (Military Establishment) of Pakistan ousted a democratically elected sitting PM (Imran Khan) by a Foreign Funded Regime change. They shot him & they are trying to witch hunt him….. Corrupt Generals of Pak are supporting the cable of crooks (current Govt.) who are masters in money laundering/ corrupting/ looting the tax payers money & hiding it in offshore companies!

Military Establishment of Pak is badly exposed!!!!
Public of Pak is behind PM Imran Khan & all they demand is FREE & FAIR ELECTION so ppl can decide who they want to elect as their next Prime-minister!
