IMPROVED USAF Anti-Ship & SEAD Attack vs Russia's Black Sea Fleet (WarGames 104B) | DCS

We use DCS World to re-simulate the effect of a large USAF aerial anti-ship strike on the Russian Black Sea naval fleet. The strike includes F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lighting II and F-15E Eagle with AGM-158C LRASM missiles. Russia defends with Su-35 Flanker and Su-57 Felon. This time we add Ukrainian Mig-29 Fighters with AGM-88G AARGMER modern anti-radiation missiles to tackle Russia’s S-400 SAM batteries.

  2. I can't help but wonder if we will see kamikaze transport drones in the future.

Like if you have a missile with a range of 100 miles. Put it under an unmanned transport drone that's slung underneath another jet. When you get as close as you can with the jet workout risk of loosing it you release the drone and turn around. The transport drone fires up and starts going in. And a few dozen miles before it's within range of getting shot down have it release the missile then turn itself into a bright irresistible target. As part of the detonation from getting shot down have it fitted a signal towards the passively coasting missile to go ahead and fire up for the final stage attack. I suppose in theory you could add additional kamikaze transport drones into this procedure. Each one staying passive until the one that launched it gets shot down before engaging it's engines and accelerating to it's maximum speed for launching the next one

  3. What I don't really understand is that Flanker and Lomac had all the Crimea bases, yet they removed it all when flaming cliffs came and added the caucasus instead. They should have just kept the old bases and use the newer textures. Almost 0 additional work….

  4. Hey Cap, I have learned recently that the Drone that was distracting the Moskva warship was actually launched from Turkey and had a radar suppression package onboard which is why the Ukrainian Neptune missiles to evade radar and end up sinking the ship. Would you be able to rerun this exercise with those drones and see if not only the fleet is destroyed but the SAM sites and the AWACS? Also wouldn't an American AWACS in the simulation use a deconfliction strategy as I haven't notice that missile wastage happening in other SEAD missions you have run when using one?

  5. Is the MALD-J decoy modeled in DCS? Even today it would be a natural part of a US strike package, drawing fire from SAMs and fighters causing them to expend missiles and assets.

  6. Great content bro, but I can’t agree with you on the S-400 vs HMARS argument lol 😂 Ukraine doesn’t have nearly enough aircraft for the s-400 to be useful, but himars a lower caliber rocket with high damage radius has literally swung the momentum back to Ukraine the s-400 are dead weight and easy targets for himars, small recon units, and even drones. Again there isn’t enough aircraft in the air for the system to hold its value, but something a quarter of its price is decimating the other side…….when’s the last time a s-400 was shot in Ukraine compared to himars being used…..having a weapons system you aren’t using consistently is a just another target and liability. Personal opinion. Ex navy vet here

  7. I think that the scramble time/ability of the defenders is generally way overestimated, I have a hard time thinking they (any defender, but especially Russian) could scramble more than 2-4 fighters from each base on short notice, with additional airframes not able to affect the outcome. That is why these types of battles (when assuming an element of surprise) would always favor the attacker as they can ensure they have overwhelming force.

  8. It's not the cost of the missiles, but the value of the target that is the main determinant of whether an action is cost-effective. I know it is a limitation of your gaming hardware and software. But, I think back to the opening of Desert Storm to imagine what this would have really looked like. Cyber attacks, waves of JASSM-ER and Tomahawk cruise missiles intermixed with decoys launched by heavy bombers, ships and submarines. Radar suppressed and spoofed by Wild Weasel and other ECM aircraft while holes are punched in the radar warning net by attack helicopters and commando teams allowing stealth aircraft to attack command and control nodes and SAM sites while attack aircraft, more bombers and ships unleash more cruise missiles and precision guided bombs on the Black Sea fleet and other targets. Top cover is provided by F-22s. Dozens of tankers would be standing by to refuel aircraft that require it.

  9. so this video is… "we put in a bunch of US weapons which DONT EXIST, AGM 88 G and Aim 260 " while not using missiles and capabilities which DO exist and are in use in Ukraine.. AKA R37m which has been confirmed to be fitted to the Mig 31 and Su-35 and being used in CAP and shooting down UAF aircraft.

  10. Are very well known tactics to beating sams that have more range than your anti radiation missile is to use two things first is stealth which the US heavily relied on and the other methods is for those airforce that doesn’t have stealth is the use of electronic jamming like the growler f-18 that will help your Sead aircraft flying right behind the jammer to get into a fair bit of range inside the Sam net with some electronic jamming cover
