Imp Rep 66 – The fighting appears to generally be going well, and the Empire has made gains, though pressures have continued to present other problems and ones that worry many within political circles and has also thrown the Emperor into something of a rage. For fleet command has sent orders desiring Lord Vader to join with Admiral Ozzel and the Southern Fleet to secure the Rebel Headquarters on Hoth, likely hoping to take out their leadership and thus provide the Empire with easier fights against the Rebel Alliance for the foreseeable future and in hopes that once the Rebels recover from losing Hoth, that they wouldn't have any strongholds worth mentioning. To those of us in the ISB on Coruscant, this has seemed like a decent strategy. Though, reports that have reached us from many of the front commanders and from the records kept by Ensign Jaeger Meister, that while Lord Vader was complying with these orders… he was also trying to stabilize the various flanks and other areas that could be attacked and devastated had he simply moved onto Hoth in a single-minded pursuit. The front commanders describe this as wise, given that the Rebel navy has proven stronger than expected.
And some of this has shown as Lord Vader's fleet has seen tough fights with the Black Sun and now against the Rebel Alliance in the south as he's finally secured the core and moved to try and stabilize the flanks to where he could depart from the Byss Defense Fleet and join up with Admiral Ozzel. It's also reflected in Rebel actions in and around Sullust. Reports indicate that the Rebels attacked the orbital shipyards in force with a large fleet of capital ships and escorting carriers, frigates, and other craft. The defending garrison did rather well, though it should be noted that Rebel starfighters continue to outclass Imperial TIEs and thus prevented boarding shuttles from activating an incomplete Star Destroyer in orbit. But by trying to work within the range of some Golan Defense Platforms, the garrison was able to take out one Mon Calamari Shield Cruiser, two carriers, and a few other escort ships, which left the fleet far weaker than it was it first attacked Sullust.
Adequately reinforced at Crait, Lord Vader took one of the flanking stations and then moved the Byss Defense Fleet to engage these weakened Rebels, though while weakened, they were still in a strong position and from there, the fighting at Sullust descended into a bank and forth brawl that would be hard to escape from if anyone was over extended. The Star Dreadnought that led the fleet took a lot of fire and at times was surrounded by various Rebel cruisers and swarmed by their fighters. Its firepower, however, was enough to decimate these ships when they tried to attack it head on and while protected under its guns, the fleet did well. However, as one of the Rebel's capital ships was destroyed, others appeared to hyperspace in, indicating a larger force than expected and an Acclimator Assault ship then charged forward, with some reports from the Dark Bulwark indicated the Acclimator captain shouting "ramming speed" over the radios. The Star Dreadnought then destroyed a couple of the ships that the Acclimator was charging while the Devastator 2 moved to cover the Acclimator's retreat as the order of "no suicide" was given.
Lord Vader fought well, it would seem… and the Devastator 2 helped destroy a few more Rebel cruisers, but in moving to protect the Acclimator, it got away from the protective cover of the Dark Bulwark's guns and was ultimately overwhelmed. The Rebels did retreat from the battle, and they lost more ships. But it would appear that the Devastator 2 was destroyed and many of its escape pods were damaged or destroyed. Ensign Jaeger Meister's escape pod was not destroyed, but it did take a glancing hit from an X-Wing which cracked the air seals. While his records were recovered, it would appear that the young ensign was killed by the vacuum of space. Reports indicate that Commodore Shed also made it to an escape pod, but it would also appear that his pod and Lord Vader's starfighter were hit by other collisions and sent into a Rebel capital ship that escaped the fighting when the Rebels fled.
We have yet to receive confirmation on whether or not the Commodore or Lord Vader were killed in the course of this, but the ISB has already sent out spies and agents. If they live, the Rebels will surely brag about it… If not, our agents will find them. This may delay operations on Hoth further, and has some officers upset over continued leadership from Ozzel, even in a moment of calm… and has angered others. The Emperor has already ordered execution of the entire crew of the Acclimator that ran forward on a suicidal charge that has gotten his apprentice into the potential for being captured again. It's something that the Northern Fleet's success after taking Yavin won't entirely off-set, though Captain Pellaeon reports that they are close to taking Mandalore, which they think will deal the Black Sun a crippling blow. For the moment we shall see… In the meantime, the ISB will pick up the recording of the campaign until Lord Vader can be confirmed to be alive and imprisoned… and then rescued. – Secretary Boss Mann, ISB, Coruscant.
"I need 3 X-wings to take on this TIE squad." Oh no, Shack's rebel side is showing again. XD
This! This kind of Rebel fleet is the kind that I had to deal with (before the map expansion) that would Blitz it's way towards my capital by week 30.
I'm surprised Shack has to deal with it so late in the game.
SAVE VADER SHACK
So shed got demoted to commander for his failures?
How tf did he get pellean in the normal era?
In this game, about 4 ties to 1 X-Wing, or thereabouts. Obviously, wing / squadron or whatever matters, and that is much harder to see on the map.
How bout no more super star destroyers
Aargua was defended by 1 squad of Stormtroopers and a dream. I guess that's a lesson the Black Suns taught in not properly garrisoning worlds, even the ones far behind the frontlines.
What mods is this?
Beady was watching a live broadcast of the battle of Sullust with many of the other pilots aboard the Ton-Falk. There were general murmurs of concern when an ISD lost power and stopped firing, which grew into outbursts of rage when someone called out "isn't that the Decimator?"
Shortly after the battle concluded, there was an announcement that due to supply chain issues, the battle for Hoth had once again been postponed.
Anakin does go through a lot of capital ships, losing Vader in space checks out.
Polus has a freaking penguin?
Vader on vacation again XD
Did Hondo Onaka just capture Aargau?
That salvage ship looks a little like…a flying Winnebago?
The Executor SSD with the Arc Hammer backing it up would make a fun fleet. A giant SSD for melting capital ships and a factory ship to sit in the back making infinite tie fighters.
32:20 You have FAILED for the last time Commander
Flying Dark Troopers can be devastated by AA emplacements. I found out on my raid on Mon Cala.
Commander with the holidays closing in might I suggest a Xmas invasion edition of the rebellion snow world

"The Sullustan Offensive"
We were already in the midst of fighting over Azameen station when the fleet was retasked. Supposedly, our southern shenanigans would not go unpunished. A entire Golan station, alongside several large installations on Sullust, wiped out.
Dagger Squadron was sent in ahead of the main fleet to take out a few crucial targets, such as an orbital station that the Sullustans have taken over as a staging point. Didn't stop them from launching their X-Wings though.
The resulting fleet engagement left a large number of rebel vessels reduced to debris, not without loss though. Vader's ship, the Devastator, was lost in the battle. Grand Admiral Star has taken command of the fleet in Vader's absence. The man's popular around here, maybe even more so than the sith lord himself.
Wes and Sato have proven to be extremely effective. Both of which have fought rebels before, eo it wasn't a surprise when their kills numbered in the double digits. We were only forced to retreat and repair after a squadron of A-Wings gave chase. Compared to other A-Wing pilots, these guys were no joke. Heard they managed to buzz off during the rebel retreat too. Hm.
That raid at the end of the video, there was a pirate outpost there, their garrison gets vehicles, for now
I have a suspicion that Shack is purposely messing up this campaign and frustrating his viewers just to create rage-based engagement in the comments to get the video aligned with the view algorithm.
There is no other reason that can explain his sudden loss in ability to play this game as well as he used to. He gaslights and wont listen to his viewers while repeating the same gameplay mistakes constantly. How hard is it to follow a basic story plan?
Please just be real again.
I'm kinda wishing that you could do something with light carriers where you can use them to drop off a bunch of fighters then leave. Same for most other light ships, being able to retreat them from the fight as single units. Bigger units, I understand not being able to though.
when will there be next armco episode? I subscribe to this chanel only for that.
Shed don't care about Vader being in trouble Part 2.🤣
P.s: Don't forget to rebuild Aargau!!!
What version are you playing
Once you capture all the planets up north then you can focus on the south
Annnnnnd you got Vader killed again -.- this is incredibly frustrating on how you handle heroes. Also incredibly frustrating how your constantly make the game gameplay mistakes over and over and over again. Your definitely have to be throwing for content.
Have watched his campaigns for a long time and theyre always entertaining. I love how he narrates his fleet battles as if he's being tactical but ultimately is just throwing whatever random units are nearby and everything in the field at the enemy in a spear-head assault; sometimes it goes well but more often, horribly/hilariously wrong. This time it makes sense, Empire :: bonehead manuevers – unnecessary losses. Cept Vader of course.
In FFG the vehicles mods can make anything into a mech. I forget which book they're in but a mix of 2 mods work great for this.
There's a cargo arm which is kind of described as a manual tractor beam. Literally just an arm for your ship to grab stuff.
And there's an All Terrain landing legs. It's aupposed to be for just landing on uneven ground but it's literally like ATAT Legs you bolt on to your star ship.
You just need an astromech slot to form the head
are you going to do another episode for your meta campaign?
Why can't you put ion or orbit canon on the planets to help defend your ship yards???
the dark troopers troopers counting as flying is irrelevant, you sent them straight into the guns of ANTI-INFANTRY SPEEDERS that are meant to kill infantry, especially the big, slow, and obvious HEAVY INFANTRY you jetpacked right in front of them. Also, those speeders and the infantry CAN AIM UP and will prioritize the units that just flew in front of the ENTIRE REBEL FORCE.
Dark troopers are very squishy and not as good as you think they are.
DON'T use them like tanks, they aren't tough enough to take a hit or mobile enough to get out of dodge if they come under fire.
DON' T use them like infantry since their size makes them easy to hit, their armor is essentially non-existent, and they don't have a take cover ability.
DO use them as support weapons for walkers and infantry while making sure said walkers and infantry are the ones taking the heat because the first is usually tough enough to take it, the latter is either hard enough to hit or expendable enough to not matter if they die.
DON'T bother making the Mk1 or MK2 dark troopers if you're not using them and other special forces in their raiding roll, the first are utterly useless a being anything other than a distraction, the second are heavy repeating blasters, aka made redundant in non raiding situations by the much more sturdy and useful shock troopers (see above part of the comment as to why).
My goodness please if you’re gonna use gladiators as fleet carriers convert them to carry tie FIGHTERS at any advanced fighter yard. Tie brutes are so bad. They are almost a joke unit cause they have all the disadvantages of a tie fighter but exaggerated to a degree while having none of the advantages. Oh and the ability they get is just a suicide button because it doesn’t matter how tanky you are if you’re so slow that every single laser cannon in range can hit you. Tie brutes only work in large swarms and then they only work against corvettes and unshielded frigates and most of them will die horribly. Awful unit
