And there's not a whole lot of a need for stealth or blending in for the Astartes during defensive operations. Especially with the scale of 40k weaponry.

I always had a massive problem with the Malodrax book. To escape the planet Lysander makes a deal with a demon. He also takes a book taken from the planet. When he returns, under psychic interrogation this deal remains undisclosed by him and undiscovered by those same librarians. On his return to Malodrax he takes the book with him, keeps it hidden from his brothers even though he is acting shady no one does anything. He treated with demons and got away with it. Pure or not others have been executed for less. Hero or not, he lied.
