  1. I think you overlooked just how fucked Calidus assassins are. There's a story where a Calidus assassin turned their power up to full and someone who was in the room who wasn't even the target of the attack shot himself instantly cause it was just so unbearable.

The Eldar hate and FEAR these things and regard them as the worst abomination ever created by humanity.

  2. Man, so much of the non-Space Marine Imperium is actually kind of fascinating. When I first heard about the shape-shifting assassins in general I didn't like the idea, it felt too…out there. Knowing they were specifically all created to take the limiters off and use whatever they can find in the setting to get the job done does make that make more sense, though. Maybe it's also seeing Taz-Mar's art on the Imperium opening me up to the idea of the Imperium being fucking horrifyingly weird also, but the assassins are actually pretty cool.

(The first faction I actually took interest in in 40k was the Daemonhunters, funny enough. There's so much absolutely wild shit in 40k GW could make stuff for.)

  3. I love the Vindicare simply because one of them shot a fucking Dark Eldar fighter pilot in the head while he was strafing random humans. The assassin had waited for him for months to show up and near instantly shot him in the head through the fighter cockpit.

  4. I'm a basic bitch and just love the Eversor.
Have youbever read the comic or seen the movie MYSTERY MEN?
They are basically Mr. Furious, just far more capable.
If they were a D&D race, they'd be Neutral Murder.
    Can I murder it?
    Yes.
    Then I murder it.
    No.
    Then I explode.
There is just something to be said about existing so simply.
Oh hello, what do you do for a living?
We extra murder the fuck out of everything.
    Ok, that's nice. Anything else?
    Sometimes we explode.

  5. Callidus get a lot of writing so of course they face a lot of disasters, like when a Callidus stabbed a Planetary Governor who revealed itself to be a C'tan shard of The Deceiver.
Also a random thought, the Eversor is probably what a Dark Age Techno-Barbarian warlord would use as infantry.
