  1. My only issue with AOS lore – and I play it – is that I cannot put myself in the shoes of the narrative. It is easy for me to think of a cool narrative or put myself on the shoes of a soldier in the 40k millenium, as earth still exists, the reason we got there makes sense. Old World is a pseudoEurope, which easily makes it for me to understand what is at stake, how a village would look like, etc.

Putting myself in the shoes of a human in a city that is across two planes of existence of pure fire and pure life, after our world has just been destroyed, surrounded by literal gods fighting battles is….more difficult!

  2. The reveals are not exciting enough. There are to many throughout the year. It would be much better to do to reveals per year which are bigger and offer a lot more

  3. The worst part of the general dislike for TOW here is the serious lack of understanding of the game, the logistics of this game considering it's a Specialist game and to top it all off just read what's written and you wont end up making nonsense statements like "you can only get the rules in the box"….

  4. Dwarf reveal was 11/10 last night. Some super cool old models coming coming back out of games workshop history, very hyped by the goblin hewers return.
So glad none of the faction expansion books and awesome new characters aren't locked in limited edition or faction starter boxes.
Youngrim and the slayers of karak kadrin!!

  5. I think it's bang on saying the jump pack lord has the same pose as Dante, I think Joe has a point that the lord on foot has the same pose as abbi: it just looks like they have pointed the head and arms in different directions

  6. As someone's who's watched aos many times I can say that a contributing factor, not the main factor but AOS is slow buildup paced game which can sometimes abruptly end one way or another, it makes for poor streams and streams are how 40k has grown so much over the years.

  7. 54:50 For me, it's mostly that 40k is sci-fi. Since Tolkien and Lewis, sci-fi has had more creative world building than fantasy has, and the genre as a whole is more enjoyable for it. Before those two arrived on the scene sci-fi was better as well. I also, as a whole prefer the 40k aesthetic.

I think the only reason the AoS model range is perceived as better than 40k's is because there aren't any old models in it.

  8. I do love the 2 lords. But i think they dont look epic like they should. They look like kitbash from parts existing. And the jump lord legs look like a ballerina. I just hope it wont take 6 months for single release

  9. I thought about it and maybe too long but what I was thinking is that AOS does have a media problem but more on the YouTube side of things. I can't name 3 AOS channels I like while I watch many WH40K channels and there are many more to choose from. AOS was those other boxes in the game store, never know lore or battleraport.

  10. the trick to playing the old world is get a copy of the rules and then ignore GW. Theres enough old models, alt models, and 3d prints that are better than the old models anyway to play the game with friends or at non GW events.

  11. The biggest reason I haven't gotten into Sigmar over 40k is the Sigmar lore is a nightmare to get into. 40k is relatively simple to understand the basic premise of the universe. Inhave absuletely no idea what the basis/foundation of AoS are
