There is a way to befriend Epic creatures in the game, but it's quite niche; essentially you need a species played from the cell stage as an herbivore (for the special ability), and the Epic needs to be the same species. If you use the herbivore ability on the epic, it's attitude towards you is raised one level, from "furious" (red) to "annoyed" (orange). From there, you can socialize with it to improve relationship, and eventually ally with it. (I've seen my brother do exactly that, but like I said, the circumstances are rare)

  9. I see that I'm too late to add this, but if you hold ctrl + shift + a you can add asymmetrical body parts and armor on your creature. However, once you do this, you have to press ctrl + z if you want to undo it, or the parts will stay asymmetrical. But it's a neat way to stack traits! Like one foot for speed another for dancing etc. Or to make cool armor.

  37. So in the editor:
    – you can press tab to have 3 circles instead of just one, that way you can more precisely rotate things.
    – also, AltGr/Alt allows you to copy parts
    – A allows asymmetric building
    – Ctrl lets you move parts of buildings only vertically
    – you can paint with unique colours and patterns in the colour editor for buildings and vehicles
    – there are also undo/redo arrows in the middle bottom of the editor screen, and you can check your own or spore's original creations in the bottom left corner. I think that's what that person meant in chat when they said 'examples'
    – Ctrl+Shift+C opens the cheat window. If you want to have creative freedom, you can type 'addDNA' for DNA points, and 'freedom' to not have your creations too complex
