A skid steer has been high on my list of wants for quite some time, and since my projects have far outgrown my little tractor, I finally bought one. This is a 2013 @caterpillarinc 242B series 3 skid steer. It’s a fairly basic machine, but that also means simple and reliable. It has proven to be a very worthwhile purchase and I’m very happy to finally have one. Be on the lookout for the shenanigans I get into with it!

Congrats on getting the skid loader!! Those things are really handy for all kinds of projects!! Like you said, just not for off road stuff. Although you might consider some wheelie bars in the back for your "tricks"! LOL!!!

Don't they make tracks that fit over wheels to convert a wheeled skid steer into a tracked one? I realize it's not exactly the same as a true tracked vehicle with the idler wheels, but it does have some advantages.
That big black bar across the back of the skid steer is for both unintended and intended roll backs… so send it Casey. we will laugh along with you.
A post hole digger might come in useful for you. Having hydraulic down force while digging makes a very large difference
You won't regret the skid steer. I use mine all the time for all kinds of things very useful thing to own.
When my daughter was little she would say "It's fun to have fun but you have to know how!". And there you have it!
Hey Casey, should see if they make a bucket like that for the land clean ups but with thumbs on it to move big objects and brush.
You can take a skid steer far more places off road that a truck, and you can fix it up as you go if need be. I have run all kinds of heavy equipment for over 40 years and there is very few if any spots you can not take a machine. Also the winch system does not have to stick out further than the bucket, go look at what Robby Layton in using. But realistically you have so many options now you would be all day deciding which vehicle to take if you have more lol
Consider getting a grapple attachment for your bucket and your forks. You'll be glad you did.
