It’s never easy saying goodbye. And today Linus is making one of his employees say farewell to YEARS of retro collecting. He’s got everything, from modded Nintendos, to rare Playstations, to one of a kind Segas, to consoles that are worth TOO MUCH! It’s like reality TV, but better because it’s actually real this time, and you can get some of these valuable collectables yourself…

The auction is now completed! Thank you so much for your support. See you when it’s time for David’s Tech Upgrade 🙂

  2. I paid $50 for my Klonoa: Door to Phantomille way back in 2002 or so. Picked up the second as part of a PS2 game bundle deal from somewhere, and immediately hunted down the first one.

  3. Lot of cool. Of course its genuine who wouldn't. It's painful. Some are easy pickups, others not. Also VMU tell me another controller that has it for minigames or other things only Dreamcast exactly also for as rare as they are why get rid of them SD mod or optical. Neo Geo pretty cool. Special PS2 nice.

Not all emulation is that perfect come on. There is a reason people collect them. Also I collect games most don't care about not nostalgia/major games anyway. I don't care worth/value and don't sell but do when purchasing.

Unless able to play lacking re-releases got to keep them. Though digital Blue Dragon/Lost Odyssey dur to Xbox One/Series for 360 back compat bur even still those disks lasting or digital purchase won't last forever and of course 360 emu is probably fair but yeah PS3 hmm long way even if faie so far.

When would people make a 3DO FPA system never. It's a good console with good games no one cared about enough because it was expensive then but can experience now, only idiots ignore for oh more well known consoles and who cares IPs. What is 3DO emulation even like anyway. Probably not much.

It's no Gizmondo emulation but still.

I play what I buy though like racing/shooters/hack n slash/platformers or some tactics/visual novels id need be. Without buying some popular gwnres or mechanics I wouldn't get an idea what had been done over time, whatd left behind when modern aucks and lacks some of them.

Puppeteer is rare no way would anyone not see it as great sealed oe otherwise. Many games are easy for cheap others are clear for keeps.

I don't seek rare, I get cheap or good enough for a 1-3 models of consoles for enough and that's it. Not more than 5 controllers anyway.

OG Xbox is great on it's own and for emulators come on. To me games with no good emulation options or special code/chips. Like sure Voodoo Vince remastered exists but it has special code for the OG Xbox version anyway. Exceptions always exist in certain eras for certain games.

Saturn makes sense as emulation isn't great for it. I mean I doubt many niche consoles would anyway.

  4. This was wholesome on several levels. First that he decided to change for family, then that he has friends who are already in the family situation who he not only trusts, but who are willing to help (even if a part of that is the content aspect). Also Linus was trying to be understanding as much as possible while also trying to help him get rid of as much as possible without too much hurt.

  5. As a collector and a huge linus fan im actually kind of butthurt at linus for not understanding why we want the real deal even if its worse than emulating. These games suck. The whole point of playing old crappy games is nostalgia, and theres nothing that makes you feel like a kid again then poping a cart in an n64 and playing on a 3 handed controller

  7. As an Eastern European I'm looking at this and 3/4 of those things make little to no sense to me.
I had already moved out by the time I learnt what a console was (I called them TV games and never cared about brand or anything).
Here, the PC ruled – Usually second hand ones from Western Europe. All my childhood was on PC playing (usually) pirated games.
I actually had no idea what Nintendo, Sega, etc were until a few years ago. I knew about PS, that was the most popular one around here and Xbox, but had no idea what Nintendo did or that they still existed.
In fact, most knowledge about consoles I gathered when I worked for an outsourcing company providing support for the Xbox, so I was essentially an Xbox customer support rep.
