This was extremely helpful. I suspect that my first time through this video I only captured a fraction of the wisdom you have accumulated. Thank you.
I totally agree !
1st year of photography as hobbyist, I wasn't so sure about the gear argument (it's not the gear but you).
After 1.5years I thought : it's about being in the right place at the right moment
Now after 2 years of practice, I totally agree that it mostly depends on planning and what type of shot I want to do, not the gear
I just realized how long ago the Storebæltsbroen video is. Time flies and I still enjoy every single of your videos. Your enthusiasm motivates me to get up at 4am every time.
Greetings from the German/Danish border region 😊
I absolutely love your work. And this video is very inspirational, just what I needed. I so must get out more. Thank you 😊
Worldwide shipping except Greenland 😢 have bought 2 before and very happy with the results but had to ship to a friend in Denmark and ask them to forward them
Great topic! Time constraints may prevent me from driving to the sea coast or other locations. I'll take walks on a nature trail or walk through the city seeking interesting compositions. I spend a lot of time looking for interesting minimalist scenes. The quest helps teaching how to find images with a story.
Super helpful and motivating Video. Several photography friends and myself have been researching local areas and are planning as many outings as we can realistically manage. Because of the location and the everchanging environment we live in, we frequently get sidetracked to another area and do not make it to our planned destination lol Thanks for the info, tips and inspiration you consistently provide.
Great video Mads. Love your enthusiasm for photography. I live in a very challenging area for landscape photography. When I win the lottery I want to hire you to come teach me how to photograph my area.
1:30 Hmmm… sort of a dig there against American photographers, eh?!
Very nice,Mads. This was a very useful video for me, in things you pointed out and in things you reminded me of. Thank you for posting.
Great video. The perfect combination of „keep it simple“ and „put the effort in“
Very thought provoking advice here. Thus is a great reminder to take a look in one’s own backyard first for some inspiration. Thanks.👍👍
Very good video, thank you! 🙂
The photos within the book are absolutely phenomenal!😊
🎯 Lord knows our attention spans can be challenged. Carry on. 👍🥂
Thanks for the inspiration!
What a great video. I wish there were more like this. I struggle with ideas so much as I live in relatively undramatic Oxford. The weather is also 99.9% average.
Good video, Mads. Some really good pointers in there. Especially about tapping into different sources of local information to find places of interest.
I DOUBT YOU CAN TAKE GOOD PICTURES IN HOUSTON TX….WELL MAYBE PHOTOS OF MOSQUITOS….IF YOU ARE INTO MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY 😅😅😅I WOULD CHALLENGE EVERYONE TO FIND NICE PLACES TO PHOTOGRAPH IN HOUSTON TEXAS….IN JUNE JULY AUGUST….WHATEVER
During lock-downs we were free to go outside as long as we wouldn´t meet other people. So I started to go on photography strolls in my direct neighbourhood, which is the inbetween of three cities, kinda rural, a little bit of woods, a river and a lot of quirky places and little gardens.
All the photos i shot were in walking distance and I returned to the same places in different seasons, or parts of the day, with different lights and weather. It isn´t spectecular at all and I don´t know what to do with this now more than 3 years worth of photos (I don´t even have social media), but I improved so much in working with the light, trying out new perspectives and compositions and always find new little scenes to photograph.
I just grab my camera with one lens (x pro 2 with 23mm) and walk out the door. That´s it. Even if I don´t take a picture it´s a little work-out. And some of these are the best landscape photographs I ever did, even if it´s just a shed with a hedge.
