  2. that c9 clip did it really show a map problem or a strat problem? cos:
    1. why is sova the one lurking b main with a super late recon arrow
    2. deadlock barriered their safest way to run back from mid to a
    3. they're playing deadlock
    4. they killed harbor at kitchen but didn't take the kitchen
    5. they waited for the snakebite to end instead of going to kitchen to hall to site..

  3. 7:08 I know that Yoru is the most reliable and more used than who I'm about to say , buuut, Chamber. Imo Chamber could 100% be used on this map for defensive play AND offensive play.

  4. Valorant map design is bad as a whole. But you cannot say that mid is bad because it is hard to hold for killjoy, or B is hard cuz it's hard to hold for jett. If so, then every place on every map is badly designed beucase not every agent can use their utilities well in certain actions.

  5. Just put map votes in unrated and they can see NOBODY wants maps like this or breeze. I dont know why riot doesnt put themselves to a high standard to make maps that are truly appreciated. Guess the layoffs do that to a company.

  6. I suppose this is "Ranked" bias (although it is in Immortal), but frankly the mid changes are the reason my Icebox winrate is so high. It's my favorite map. It's the only map that feels completely intuitive for both attackers and defenders, let alone the sheer creativity you can have with just about any agent. You're not getting that on Ascent. You're getting agent diversity there, attacker options there, and god it is just so boring. And if I had to add anything else, it's time to retire Viper from Icebox. Play Omen. I swear on my life he makes that map so, so easy.

  7. Dear Riot: The changes that were leaked all the way back in May 2023 with the boxes in mid and passthrough towards B were MUCH better than whatever this is. Please do something like that soon.

  8. Gotta love how they take a map out for a year, the same year where we received the least about of balance changes and updates, then bring it back with 3 minimal changes despite it being completely problematic. Like what we’re they doing in 2023?

  9. Days since TMV throws shade at icebox: 0

    C9 got outplayed because they just played bad: scan, raze push viper w/blastpack and rest rotate, raze vacates via bmain to lurk mid. Like you said, "They just sat there".

    One of my favorite things about valorant itself is bias towards execution, it makes every round feel paced kind of like an american football "down", pretty fast and under pressure. Some maps feel more like goal and inches (icebox here), and others can feel more like you need more strategy like a 10yd pass to a 10yd run.

    Agree that removing verticality from icebox is a mistake, it's one of my favorite things about it(omen main) I will miss my picks from above (which reminds me: bad call for C9 to have only 1 vert agent). However, this is a small map, the 1 dash to having sights on the enemy team's spawn is case in point.

    Overall, I think the changes were positive for the kind of games I love icebox for: blitz that shiz and Hail Mary! Not holding all angles and death by pie!

  10. You can turret kitchen window to watch under tube and kitchen lurk. The turret allows defenders to walk into kitchen a bit. They get the hall LOS. It is easy to play off of the turret. Ex. wait at kitchen entrance, yellow behind double stack, top B nest.

  11. Forgive me if I am misunderstanding something, but I don't understand the issue with the start of the video when explaining that a sentinel isn't able to cover all the parts of mid anymore. Shouldn't someone still have to hold mid in some way instead of relying on a piece of utility to alert that someone pushed mid in any way? Isn't that a good thing for the attackers that a single sentinel can no longer watch all avenues of mid with just their utility now? I don't really play the game that much recently, but I see some comments talking a lot about the map being Attacker sided, so I can see why this would be an issue for them to gain control of mid more easily, but if the goal was to incentivize more mid to B gameplay, then isn't it a good thing? Cause the design of the sites themselves are why the map is attacker sided…

  12. This Icebox rework reminds of the Split rework. They had so much time to figure it out before bringing back the map into the competive pool and then we get this… Even with Split they did something good at least. These Icebox changes are not that good…

  13. you know when they first icebox back in i was tryna hold hope. i was trying to cook all these different comps that could be good but the more i was trying to the more i realized. nothing has changed. the map is still going to play the same way. you slam A 8-10 times on ur attack and you hope your retakes are good enough. all theyve really done is made sova the main init pick, made viper harbor a bit better and made duelests probably almost useless

  14. why does nobody try put the bot on the boxes in tube? surely that sees over the mid smoke and would see most of mid. (yes, it's shot out easily, but still never seen anyone say this is an option)

  15. if sova in the b main wouldve pushed viper early . it woulve been easy round . atcking viper shouldve pick the orb and put it at the spwn to blink cratewindow. t woulve been very easy… new problems reequires newer soln. its just ppl will take time to adpt to better chnges. these chnges provides so options for defenders and attackers. lurk opt for attckers mid tube window.
    cross fire for mid push for defenders
