The Intel Core i5 12400F and RTX 3060 Ti is one of my favourite gaming combinations, and thankfully both are becoming ideal for the more budget conscious.
Sure, there may be better options out there (6700 and 6700XT come to mind) but this setup is still really good for 1080p gaming and solid at 1440p.

3060 Ti was actually the best 1080p and 1440p card to get if the price is right. Sure doesn't have the highest VRAM but you can pretty much play most games with high to mid settings and ultra on older titles. Definitely get this for extra 3 years of gameplay.
This video shows why new Nvidia 40-series gpus at this GPU tier arenβt selling, the performance on offer with the 3060Ti is remarkable at both 1080p and 1440p for the majority of titles!
Is that a hyper 212 cooler with a noctua fan? LOL.
in hogwarts your performance will be better with 32 GB of Ram
When Benchmarking GTA V, I'd suggest going near grassy areas since they cause a lot of performance dip.
Thanks!
Looking forward to the 14100F that will have 6 cores like the 12400F and hopefully will
Be cheaper. Also the 14600K will have 8 cores and basically be the 12700k. Nice to see more P cores in the lower segment.
Thank u for this video building a pc right and this is the combo I was looking at getting.. looks like it going to work for me looking at the numbers you showed itβs capable of.
I'm running a R5 5600/ 3060 Ti which makes it really close to the system in the video, except I'm running 32Gb of Ram at 3600mhz. Upgraded to 1440p and the card really holds up well. I've paid about 600 euro for it back in 2021 close to launch so I'd say it served me well so far. Excited to see what AMD brings with the RX 7700/7800, maybe I can get a great deal on those later down the line. As much as I love this card, I kinda want VRAM for my next card, and that's currently impossible for Nvidia without selling my kidney.
Or you could over pay and get a RTX4060Ti and get your ass kicked at 1440p by your friends who got the RTX3060ti
Is Nvidias logo Green to indicate Greed?
I'm looking to buy a new pc, but I have no clue what works best for the cpu and gpu or even the motherboard
At the moment, I'm looking at an i7 13700 and the z690 a motherboard and a asus tuf rtx 4070 not sure on the ram sticks 16gb or 32gb
Anyone who can help
Haha, no wonder all games running good on this, almost a brand new setup. My i5-4460 + 1650 Super would have some more issues with these titles. π
Should I buy a Rtx 3060 instead of a Rtx 4060 3060 ti or Rx 6700 because of the extra vram
Could you possibly look into using a micro PC like the HP Elitedesk computers with the USB graphics card adapter you featured earlier? Would be interesting to see results of that. Gaming on a cheap(er) budget because those micro PCs sell for very little money and since there is no PCIE slot, if paired with a decent budget GPU what would be the result?
Itβs almost like no company is spending money developing games that will stress year 2018/2019 cards and processors anymore. They all learned from cyberpunk.
Was just using this combination (EVGA 3060 TI XC) but was using DDR5..Just upgraded to a 4070, and honestly dont notice alot of difference.
I have a friend with the same setup, and i can say that if you just play is pretty good, try to record or edit something and you start to have problems.
Wouldnt it be convenient if you had an fps counter in your game settings that went up and down according to the changes made automatically? Flipping back and forth is just so annoying and can get you bogged down in the settings rather than just enjoying the game.
This time i'll skip the 4000 series and go for 5000 series. don't see huge improvements over the 4000 series, nvidia screw up this time with it
how do you get the REAL usage percent for the CPU to show up in riva? I have had this CPU and GPU combo since the cpu launched and my usage is always wrong showing like 2% to 10% in game.
I am considering to go for 12400F as it has some b760 mATX options with pcie x16 5.0, which AM5 platform doesnβt have yet.
I am thinking to upgrade to something like 65w 14700 later down the line.
Is it worth considering, or are newer i3 better option? raptor lake refresh should offer 6core i3β¦
I am running i5 3570 at the moment, so its a bit luxurious thinking to me:)
Nice affordable setup that works well with decent fps.
Just saw ur 4070 review
The gpu usage is the same or lower but pricing is poor π
If that gpu gets to $399 i might get it for 1080p gaming
What motherboard do you use? Seems like some of MSI H610?
1440 bree – thatβs some sharp cheese π
Hey there! Just built a new rig (bout 6-weeks ago) sporting an i3 12100f and reused my gtx 1070. There is NOTHING this combo won't play at 50 fps and above:)))))
How much did you pay for the pc? And if you build it yourself how much did you paid for the components. I got it prebuilt and i wanted to know if it was a good deal
motherboard?
Hi – i pretty much dont know anything. Would this setup run better than xbox x series and why? And will it support Starfield at high setting? I aint got either xbox or gaming pc and deciding between 2
ryzen 5 3600 and 2060 super doing me well
Console like next gen build
