I Won The Battle And Got The Seized Fan Clutch Off Of My 7.3 Powerstroke in my E-Series Van

If you are going at your E Series with the 7.3 to change your fan clutch, I hope this video gives you some tips that you can use to make yours go easier than mine did. Read the comments to pick up some tips that I didn’t know… like there is an actual tool made to reach the nut and I was using the older version straight tool. If I’d only known πŸ™‚

My name is David and with my dog Lefty we live full time in our ambulance conversion RV. I made this change to my life and you can too! Like, subscribe and comment! Lefty would appreciate it – he wants the adventures to keep coming!

The Campulance is a 2002 Ford E450 Marque Commando 164 Class III ambulance powered by the Ford 7.3l Powerstroke turbo diesel engine and a 4 speed 4R100 transmission. Lefty is a 68lb American Staffordshire Terrier (best I can tell) that came from the Verona Street Animal Shelter (https://www.vsas.org/) in March 2014 at the age of 9 months. We have been living full time in the campulance since July 2019. #ambulancelife #vanlife #staffordshireterrier

  1. I’m happy for your excitement πŸ˜‚ projects can be a pain but you’re taking it slow, taking notes. I look forward to seeing the final finish. Love Lefty’s supervisor mode πŸ˜ƒ

  2. The first time I took off a fan clutch on a van it took me a week. Youare right. You do not have the right tool. The one for the van curves and recesses back into the fan on to the nut. The wrench you have is straight, for the F series. I felt the same way the first time I got it off. Just spin it back on and don't tighten it and it will be easy to get off next time.

  4. I loved the opening to this vlog. Leftys so cute eating his outdoor salad bar! My Mr. Annie used to do the same. Especially right after the rain. The thick blade grass apparently is a favorite of the Staffies. And the muskrat adventure, darling! I don't think I've ever seen one. That I recall anyway. And then him opening up the box was just a kick. Hilarious! πŸ’› And this whole radiator thing brought back a real bad memory of mine. I have an old Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV and I had to have the same thing done to my radiator. Luckily I had a Friend to call on to help do it for me. I just bought the parts and then he did all the work on the repair. I got to do his backyard trimming and watering. Cleaned his patio off really well too, then made him dinner in return. I definitely got the better end of the stick! Oh, my radiator still works great 5 yrs later too. I figured you'd get it fixed properly David. You're very mechanically smart. Smart overall. I always enjoy the mechanical tips on your channel. But of course Lefty is my favorite. πŸΎπŸ’ž. His supervisory skills are impeccable. πŸ˜…. When he started barking and wouldn't stop it reminded me of a supervisor I used to have..πŸ˜‚
