The first Rocky movie is truly a classic and worth a watch for sure. It’s loosely based on a real fight between champion Mohammed Ali (who Apollo Creed is loosely based on) and Chuck Wepner, an unheralded underdog (who Rocky is loosely based on). Rocky 2-4 are also solid. The rest are missable IMHO
You'll probably like Creed 2 even more. Check it out. Oh, and get on those Rocky movies.

Watching Creed without watching the Rocky series is like watching the final Ellie and Abby fight without playing TLOU 1. Lol there's no emotional impact, you won't get any of the references and nothing the characters say or do will make any sense. Ya done messed up.

I highly recommend you watch the movie (Bleed for this) it’s in my opinion top 3 best underdog boxing movies, it’s also based on a true story.

Rocky and Apollo became best friends/brothers after their fight. Apollo wanted to come out of retirement to Rocky’s dismay in order to feel young and important again. Apollo died during a boxing match with a superhuman Russian which rocky could’ve prevented . Adonis is the bastard of Apollo and was conceived during his training for the fight. Adonis wants rocky to train him because he’s the closest thing to family and his dad he has left plus he was the greatest boxer of his era
At the very least, do Rocky 1-IV before hitting Creed 2.
