It’s not real science in Oxygen Not Included until you use RADIATION to upgrade and evolve your space base! The power of science is insane!

  1. So a room I think you would enjoy using. (Until you go blind) is the Shine Bug Reactor. Basically, you make a decent size room, fill it with some solar panels and a way for radbolts to escape, and then fill that room with as many Shine Bugs as you can find.

  2. You need to create a lot of medical rooms if you are going to use radiation in the middle of the base, because where you wanted to make the Radbolts line is one of the main passages for the crew, try to put it in a separate place so as not to hurt anyone else, otherwise it is not too much time spent healing than producing food

  3. You can make them faster in the suits by increasing their athletics. Hook up a manual generator to a lamp and assign someone to just run on the wheel. It turns into a treadmill basically. Also, Wheezeworts are radioactive. You can use them to generate all of the radbolts you will ever need.

  4. If you place all of your wheeze warts in one location you can loop your oxygen pipe through it before it get expelled into the main base to greatly decrease temperature witch will help in a lot of areas

  5. for me, when playing classic, i just do normal wires until i got access to lead. lead direct refined metal without any refinement, so you can use it to make conductive wires.

  6. Hey Blitz! I hope you see this because I have a lot to say that can really help you out. I sadly don't know much about any of the rad stuff but I can tell you about your power, coal, and your heating issue. This isn't going to be the best advice but these little patches got me well over day 1000!

So with your power you're going to want to do something horrible… MATH! Make sure you know how much power is going into one battery because that will determine how much it can actually power. If it's too much, even the transformer will not be able to stop it from over loading. So always make sure what ever power source you're using is below 2k in total because that is the max amount of power the conductive wires can carry.

As for the hydrogen vent? You are not ready for it. You will need a some what complex air cooling system and nots and lots of steel! Because that vent will push out hydrogen well over 200+C heat and will break anything. Even steal. You'll need a steam generator and an air cooling system to re-pump the gas into a locked room to help keep it cool. That's the best I can say with out going into insane detail about how to make it. Just know lots and lots of steal. Not to mention an infinite gas storage system which can be finnicky because once you make it you will NEVER be able to open it again with out consequences unless you do the water air pressure trick.

Your stone hatches are fine but you will want sages if you want more coal. Thing is they will eat A LOT of your dirt and polluted dirt. They give out the same output of kgs they eat as refined coal. Something to keep in mind.

You might actually want to try and make a fish take. Pacu lay lots of eggs, are a good source of food. There are variants that heat the water. That can turn polluted water into clean water by killing the germs as well. But you really, really don't need those many water filters. But speaking of water filters. You don't need that many. You're using more power than you ever will need for any kind of filtration. Maybe two but that's dependent on the size of the water you're trying to filter out.

For your heating? Now this is just a band aid kind of a fix that may result in some high stress moments and lots and lots of ice. You have the right idea with the statues but you might be better off using the tempshift plate. You can put them over your crops and it will cool down everything when it melts. Mop up the water and you have yourself a little extra water! Not a whole lot but it's something to when making it out of snow or ice.

I hope all of this helps a little bit! Like I said not perfect problem solvers but something to consider in little patches and things to move you along the way!

  7. I assume getting Radbolted is a bad thing, Replacing the rad-lab platform blocks with ladders, that way they can walk past without getting in radbolted, also move the radblot generator to the other side before it kills poor SplaterSax

  8. How i miss this game, quick help on your dupes moving so slow, asign them skills like exosuit training which would make them faster and reduce the suit penalty, and also allow only important colonists like diggers/builders go outside with exosuits. Lastly, you could build a dedicated room for new colonists to run on a hamster wheel for a while, it increases their athlethic skill which will make them move faster overall, including with suits, athlethis 7-10 is the sweet spot for running exo suits around the colony. Good luck!

  9. You can move the manual radbolt gen. to the left of the research station to diminish the risks of someone getting hit. It won't block the radbolts from the automatic generator
