I Tried The Pixel 9 Pro (Pros, Cons, & A Camera Test)

In this video, I share my initial thoughts on the Pixel 9 Pro after using it for a little while. There is a lot to love about the cameras and the features, but the design will be polarizing.

  1. Thank FK Mike, I thought you were gunna slate it and I've pre-ordered it, but I'm upgrading from a Pixel 6 Pro, literally can't wait (and your sister is beautiful)
also I'd love to see a Xiaomi Watch Pro 2 review, because it's a Smart watch that actually looks like a traditional watch, I might just buy it anyway as it's mega cheap, but I don't know if it's better than my Samsung 42mm

  2. I don't know how people want boxy sides on their phone and say "it feels nice". These people should tell carmakers why they don't start steering wheels like this so it would feel better to use them lol
This is obivously a bad move and the fact they copied this from iPhone is sad. These phones just feel much worse that Pixel 5 for example with smooth edges. That phone handles much better.

  3. See this is what Samsung is lacking and why I left for iPhone. They had it right when they made the note 10 and 10 plus. The S22 plus and on should’ve been the ultra in a smaller version. The S24 plus should be a scaled down version of the ultra with the s pen and all if not most of the same features. Obviously smaller battery and screen, possibly camera but everything else identical. Pixel 9 pro is the ideal size over the XL for me and most people I know. Good work Google

  4. Totally over sharpened photos, looking too artificial, a tendency Google Pixels started a few models ago.

Google pixel phones lost their mojo. They used to be phones inspired and focused on photography and by photographers. Now it is a mixed bag of childish stuff and Al.

  5. can reviewer stop taking videos of green lands and sky for test. Come on normal users usually care more on group photos and human skin tone are the hardest to make it right. compare more on portrait , selfies, group photos rather than saying "the tree has great dynamic range".

  6. Add Me is genuinely one of the best features they have brought in years, hope it improves with time, because it's actually a pain point to opt for selfies instead of proper photos just because you don't have someone to hand it over, or they didn't click a good photo.

  7. Even though my s23 ultra and Samsung one ui 5.1 and 6.1 are my favorite, Google has amazing software as well some of the things there are doing w gemini and camera AI is awesome

  8. So cringe that Pixel 8 Pro prices has increase since 9 release. They are actualy trolling us. Google went full retarrd on Marketing this release. Losing respect really fast.

  9. I don't care about any app. All I want from a phone is to be fast, take the best photos, and if possible to not be the size of a tablet. I already have all the apps I need. Too bad there is no improvement on the photo, and the phone is not the fastest. If the phone is a little bit slower in certain situations now, imagine how much worse will be in 4-5 years. My last phone that I am now looking to replace is 7 yo and it is a Note 8. The reason I am looking to Pixel 9 pro, is because the latest Note devices are really big.

  10. I dunno what's going on with people's eyes, but the Pixel 9 phones look NOTHING like an iPhone, especially from the back. The front of the Pixel 9 phones looks like a typical Android phone, and their camera bar clearly looks nothing like the stove eye design of the cameras on the iPhone 14s and 15s. I think people are trying to make a dumb excuse to say that Google is now trying to copy Apple.

  11. Hello, I was wondering if It's possible to capture 4K60 video with 10-bit HDR enabled on the Rear Lens?

The Pixel 8 Pro can only take HDR videos with 30 fps and I was wondering if it's changed on the newer phones.

  12. The temperature sensor is really handy with small kids. Being able to take their temperature on the fly and having timestamped logs of past reads has been so useful when speaking with doctors over the phone.

  13. Looks like an iPhone is such a bizzare criticism when all phones basically look the same these days tbh. Main difference in the designs are the roundedness of the corners and the design of the camera bump these days

  14. Hey Mike thanks for the review I would really like to see a comparison against the Pixel 8 pro as if the cameras are the same does it take the same kind of pictures and is it really an upgrade from other reviewers it seems like the tensor 4 is just a hair bit better than the tensor 3. I really don't care about metrics but I had the pixel 8 for a little while and it just would overheat at times for me in the signal would drop and so I'm just wondering if they fix that and whether the new modem is actually a lot better than the modem that was in the pixel 8

  15. I am guessing that the debate over Apple iPhones being more privacy focused is over or people just don't care anymore? Maybe Big Brother has finally just wore us all down?

  16. Gemini advanced is NOT free for 2 years. It's free for one year and that's just a blatant attempt to get you hooked so you'll keep paying for the service afterward. Over $200/year just to talk to my phone? Nah. I will not even activate the "free" trial.

  17. Hey mike! great review. Just a small suggestion. Next time whenever u review an android flagship please try to include a social media test. most people choose iphones over android because of the inconsistency when it comes to using an android device for posting content on social media. especially instagram stories and snapchat. i only know that google and samsung has the instagram api that is optimized for its own devices to perform better than other android devices. Uhmm so in case u review another device in the future please look into social media performances too. Cheers !

  18. Normally I watch hardware previews and reviews on hardware on Dave2D or MKBHD videos, but this time you were my first and until now only review on the new pixels.

In-depth but not too much, great work as always!
