Valve’s Steam Deck is a prefect match for turn-based tactics and tactical RPGs because they typically don’t require high frame rates and lots of horsepower. In this video Adam shows off the performance of over 20 games on the Steam Deck and provides some insights into how well they played.

I really enjoy these sorts of genre break downs and would love to see one for city builders/simulation titles.
Great review. I hope it gets more views.
By the way. How do you find steam deck's speaker setup? How good is the sound? Like your average smartphone or beefier?
I was wondering if you have by chance been able to test Divinity Original Sin 2 or Baldur's Gate 3.
I had the wasteland 3 cloud save bug. Try changing which proton version you use after booting it up on your pc and making a new cloud save.
I'm a huge fan of shadow run (especially snes) It was the first game i tried on the deck. Ill have to give war hammer a try.
The YouTube algorithm knows me well finding this video for me lol. I subscribed.
It's a pure console and I need a laptop with control which like GPD WIN MAX 2
Looks like the Steam Deck is a turn based strategy machine
Whats that framerate widget on the left corner?
I think there’s already lots of discussions on xcom2 controls on steam deck. It would have been a good idea to check those out.
If there's any fan of the Heroes of Might and Magic franchise in this comment section, I highly recommend Songs of Conquest, it's basically modern HoMM in gorgeous pixel art with smart additions to the systems, a short (for now, it's in early access) campaign, skirmish modes, lots of maps and included community made ones directly in the game menus, might be better played on external screen, but it runs perfectly on the Deck.
Fantastic video and idea, good job man. Loving it. Why am I watching it 1 day after SummerSale tho? 😀
Great video Adam! I think Divinity should look nice in the Steam Deck (I don't know about the controllers though), maybe you can try that one too.
Dude I forgot that I had Valkyrie Chonicles on steam. So going to play it on deck. Eventually.
Thanks for including Chaos Gate Daemonhunters. I'm very excited to play it on my Deck but have been holding off for a performance fix. Hopefully the developers will release a patch soon!
Love Gears of war tactics
85 C. That will wear out the hardware. Still a lot of games I will checkout.
Does ANYONE enjoy the Deck with the performance counters off?
Try out Fell Seal.
Can you do these types of vids with the Aya neo next?
sanctus reach?
I got XCOM 2 working with the controller by setting the control scheme to “controller with mouse trackpad” before launching the game, then go into the options and it shouldn’t be greyed out anymore. Or try just setting as a controller, and if you hold the steam button the right trackpad becomes a forced mouse to navigate the UI to change it.
Great video! Made a list of a few games to try once I get the deck. Been playing advance wars and fire emblem on handhelds since forever so you really spoke to me with this video
Please cover more genres in the same way, perhaps what Indies would be perfect for the Steam Deck and so on, I am tired of seeing everyone play Elder Ring, God of War or Cyberpunk on it.
I want to see games that would be perfect for the on the go format, similar to the ones on this video ( for example Octopath is a must have for the Steam Deck)
Very nice video, thanks for the effort! Will be checking out some of them for sure <3
nice video, what about the same themed video using the new Asus x13 flow
WTH how can he not have tested out Divinity original sin 2 WTH
There was a game out a while back called Underrail. Was a lot like the original fallout games. Might be worth a look. Dont know how it is now, I played it in early access.
Divinity Original sin 2?
Steve sent me.
Hi! GN sent me, they said your channel went down so I thought a like and subscribe might help now that you're back up!
Love this type of game since I don't recall have the quick reaction needed for the modern aaa games. And I've always been a fan (FFT was my most played psx game).
I loved this video, and added some to my wish list.
It would be great to have there run downs of genres without the steam deck needing to be involved.
Into the Breach is absolutely incredible. I can play it over and over and over and over and over again.
I love this style of genre breakdown! I'd love to see one on rpgs next as curling up in bed with a 50+ hour narrative monster sounds glorious.
Can you try starship troopers terrain command. I'm curious how it runs on the deck
