I tried Fixing Minecraft’s Enchantments with Mods

With Minecraft’s enchantments being as polarizing as they are, can a few enchantment mods fix the issue?

  1. I think it would be cool if there was a “Cleaving” enchantment that increased the damage dealt to other mobs by two hearts in return for an extra 0.5 seconds of cooldown before attacking again, kind of like the trade off with an axe over a sword.

  2. Imagine if Curse of Binding could allow you to put two pieces of armor together in the same armor spot, like a chestplate and elytra, but you still couldn’t take it off. What about Curse of Vanishing being completely different, somewhat slowly draining an item’s durability even when idle, but the item can be repaired for free in an anvil and doesn’t necessarily disappear when you die. There would likely be no natural Curse of Vanishing items because even when in a chest the durability wanes, though it can be delayed if the item is combined with wax in a crafting table. If you’re always close to an anvil and always have a supply of the item (like a diamond or iron ingot) needed to keep a tool’s durability up, then this could be quite a good enchantment for saving on enchanting costs.

  3. I'm so used to terraria that when u said that was going to test frostbite with all the bosses I forget that was watching a Minecraft video and thought "this is going to take an eternity" lol
    Great video

  4. I feel Brimstone isn't an enchantment made for one mob vs one player.
But MANY mobs vs one player. And if they have armors as well. Why do you think the Warden Shriek is op? Because it ignores armor.

It's like saying Piercing on a Crossbow sucks because it does no extra damage, despite piercing through mobs.
Quite a shame you didn't give it more chance in other situation.

  5. Lifesteal is the core mechanics of many other combat focus games to encourage risk. For example, in Hollow Knight you get soul which you can heal with by attacking with a melee hit only. Maybe the lifesteal enchant world only work with swords and axes.
