  1. Love your reaction man 🔥
Bol has always been behind Sydney in the hurdles as she has far less years of experience. She has demonstrated she closed the gap in terms of speed. Have to wait and see how that translates with her technical hurdling now. One thing for sure it will be much closer and that is exciting.

  2. Kratochvilova who previously held the indoor world record is only 1 of 2 women to run sub 48 outdoors at 47.99. It's taken too long for records in women's events to be broken. At 1 point I thought the records would never be broken or even been close to them.

  3. Wow I'm viewing from South Africa 🇿🇦
This is actually one of best commentary I ever saw and you apriciate a Athlete for ability
Respect , and u don't value ure own country or take their part .
Interesting fact is Klaver and Femke are training partners She also ran a pb in this race Originally a 200m athlete
Last year in Holand Femke beat her to the 200m title so shes actually a recognized sprinter .
    Shes the European double champion
With pb of 49. 44 outdoor
So I don't know what her time will be now afrer leap improvement .
Nevertheless in open 400m the gab will be much smaller if we assume Sydney will win but for now Femke is my favorite
    Both can sub 48
Femke Bol also did a World best ( record) in 500m this year .
Her 400hurles must also improve ..

😊 ps I can understand Dutch and listened to her interview itnot far from my home language eAfrikaans
Thank you again let me subscribe
    Peace

  4. Never been into running because if I would run against opponents like Bol – I would simply stop after 50 meters because there is no point in trying to win it or get even close. Was pretty good doing long marches and or speed marches though.

  5. Enjoyed that – appreciate yr comments based on yr personal experience. I got the national XC Champs on Saturday (in the UK) and this race will be my inspiration (not the incredible performances at the World XC Champs last weekend! – they were merely incredible!).

  6. Hey C: As a former track athlete, I appreciate your commentary. All is true , including feeling good for someone that breaks a record. The only exception was the relays which is more a team vs team thing. In pole vaulting, we were coaching each other at the track! Again, kudos to you.

  7. Don't forget Britton Wilson. She had an incredible 2022 in the 400H. If SM and FB and Wilson can push the 400H through 2024, we may get sub 50. But will they stay or both to other events? I see Wilson is running the 800m at the SEC. Weird? Or is looking for her slot. Bol's size and minimal weight training suggest she could be a perennial 47s 400m runner. SM–I hope she changes to 400m after she breaks 50s in the 400m. Wonderful times.

  8. Have you seen a picture of that 400 m indoor and 800 m outdoor chapion Jarmila Kratochvílová at that time?
The former Eastern Bloc was and is known for one thing. This is also evident from this comment from the media about Jarmila Kratochvílová.
"Her unfeminine appearance raised questions. Although no doping evidence is known, Reuters reported on August 16, 2006 that classified documents had been found, stating that doctors administered banned substances such as nandrolone, norandrosterone and stanozolol to Czech athletes in the 1980s This involved a wide range of sports, including athletics."

  9. Fan-tas-tic WR! A perfect prelude to her outdoor hurdling. She says she’ll stick to the 400H even if that means being second forever, but I think Femke will probably be much closer to Sydney on the 400H this year: Femke didn’t break her PB in 2022 on the hurdles because the 15 strikes combined with her increasing flatspeed were slowing her down (made her take too small steps). Not natural and she came too close on the hurdles. Now, however, she’s been training on 14 strikes since December, which suits her height of 1.84 m. much better. With the longer, natural strikes her flatspeed has already improved spectacular. A year before her WR of 49.26 indoor her PB was 50.63, so she took off 1.37 sec. I think that, due to the adjusted training, the progress on Femkes hurdling will be even bigger (the 400 hurdles gap between Sidney’s WR and Femke’s PB btw is 1.35 sec). I think Sydney needs another WR to stay ahead of Femke (which is not impossible). There’s no saying where this will lead to. I hope Sydney is going for the hurdles in Budapest WC. Femke for sure is. We’re in for a treat. (Lucky me: I got tickets for Budapest day 1, 4 and 6 to see Femke in mixed 4×400 and hurdling (and Sifan Hassan I hope).

  10. Just confront the best times of both:

    Femke

    200 m in 23 s 00 on june 25 2022

    400 m in 49 s 44 on august 17 2022

    400 h in 52 s 03 on 4 august 2021

    Sydney

    200 m in 22 s 39 on march 29 2018

    400 m in 50 s 07 on 30 march 30 2018

    100 m haies in 12 s 65 on 9 may 2021

    400 h in 50 s 68 on july 22 2022

As you can see Sydney was already faster on the 200m in 2018 than Bol's best time. And especially as we can see in her races she is more resistant at the end of the race, so faster !
