Plouffe loves his Alienware AW3423DW monitor. It’s got a high refresh rate, QD-OLED panel, nicely curved screen, and a great design… but now there’s competition! MSI’s new MEG 342C has a tasteful black and gold colour scheme, a nice touch of RGB, and a high-powered USB-C port while still maintaining the excellent QD-OLED panel the Alienware does. Is Plouffe’s favourite monitor about to change?

If only HDR were out of beta stage in windows. Implementation is horribly buggy.
The Dell curved 34 incher I have here is rather heavy and tends to kinda sag my desk down. I wonder how substantial the weight is on these newer models. Considering getting an upgrade at some point but I don't want to worry about my desk bowing as I hang it on a desk-mounted arm.
But is it over 9000?
5:37 just a random puffer fish augh.
Can you please start actually testing and showing the built-in KVM features of monitors like this in the future? I love that they have them, but I want to know exactly how they work, if there are any trade-offs or compromises, and if its actually genuinely useful as a combination gaming/home office monitor.
wonder if pre-wearing one of these with a full white screen for 24 hours would aleviate the sensitivity to static items – plasma panel fans would do this on new TV's
Major Disadvantage 🫡 12:44
8:08 HDR400 and HDR400 True Black are not the same. So much for "tech channel". 400 True Black is the highest available HDR standard available on any current gaming monitor.
Cool if you can afford it !
Don't understand why anyone would buy this instead of the dwf. Especially someone supposed well versed into tech.
I'd regret purchasing that outfit too.
It doesn't have peeable foil like the Alienware?
Wow what an inverse click bait. I'm a little conflicted…
Nice monitor. If I start saving for it now I can get one in 2053!
I don't know whether your color grading on the video is off (I doubt it), or my monitor's colors are all out of whack, but to me that color is definitely brass – not gold.
4:3 in an ultrawide is 100% JUST there for csgo players who wanna turn the game into skeet shooting
"Just get it " ? Terrible advice despite the fact what's coming next year .
I'll wait and get the one with variable resolutions @240hz 1440p and 480hz 1080p
Plouffe doesn't know Hexagon is the bestagon!
Does the bullshit rgb turn off?
The gold is gaudy 1990 wants it back. Just stick to black grey and white please.
Seeing this and currently planning my next build to be in a Fractal North with the copper/gold accents. I feel this might be a must buy just to make the setup look sharp. Damn.
Nice
Review LG OLED flex
Ultra wide OLED 240hz is my next monitor. Currently using ultrawide IPS 165hz.
I dont understand. Do you regret buying this monitor or are you happy with it?
It's got a chin like Jay Leno…yikes!
hexagons tend to be pretty shit hot for structure
Its insane how much more expensive this monitor is in Europe… 1499 MSRP is crazy with other monitor brands being 200-300 euros lower. Its still an amazing looking monitor!
Built-in KVM can be a money-saver too, depending on how feature-rich it is.
There's a mod to fix the black bars in RE4. There's also a mod to fix the shimmering crappy image quality using DLSS/DLAA.
They're the same mod even!
1800 R Curvature? More like 1800 DOLLAR curvature! That is such an expensive monitor OMG.
It has really quite a big chin for such a premium monitor
$1,100. I always hear Linus complain that manufacturers charge too much. Then they promote this shit. lawl!!
I just wish they had turned off their nanoleaf hexagons before they started recording the screen with a camera.
When screwing in the stand, you missed the PLUG for the LTT Screwdriver! 🙂
is the 3080 enoigh for this or do you need a 4080 also fps above 120
I've tried to not go 100% into any brand because they all make mistakes, but I've gotten so lucky with all the MSI stuff I've bought. Definitely not a perfect company but I think I will definitely be getting this monitor if possible.
16:43 ahaha once again, LTT lets it slip and admits why HDR is trash and useless for gaming. Shadows are pitch black where you can't see anything and like he mentioned here the HDR 1000+ nits of peak brightness make the bright sections of the game so bright that your eyes hurt.
