Geistlight Snare is better for fast starts with Curious Obsession: 1-drop turn 1 followed by CO with Snare as one of 8 possible defensive cards against removal. Lofty Denial is useless in that scenario. Denial is always the first counter that gets cut from deck designs, never Snare. Slip vs. Shore Up is a matter of preference; I like being able to evade sweepers and, in a pinch, using it on opponent's creatures to set up the alpha strike.
