I never thought THIS would be what got me while exploring abandoned mines! (“quick-mud?!”)

A subscriber (Matt) sent me a picture of a VERY old abandoned mine that he discovered in the area, so we’re going to check it out. The structure looked great to begin with and I didn’t see any water near the entrance. I would never have guessed we would run into THIS kind of problem. This video is a little shorter than normal, but you’ll soon see why.

This is the Pruden Coal and Coke Company No. 4 mine and it dates back to 1938. There is a good chance that Matt’s grandfather worked in this mine and several others in the area. He happened to find it while out riding his side-by-side one day and sent me a picture of the portal.

I’ve always loved video editing and travel. Now I’m combining the two and hoping, one day, to make a living doing something that I love. If you like backpacking, hiking, urban exploration and/or exploration, in general… you might want to subscribe. Even if I make little to no money doing this, I’ll still do it. It’s what I like to do. If you never go, you’ll never know.

This is not a “super-popular” channel and I am NOT “rich”. If you want to support me beyond the regular like-subscribe-share-comment avenue, here is the link to my Gear Wishlist on Amazon:

  1. This is crazy! It still freaks me the f out watching you navigate through these mines! I give you kudos for keeping going on. I just can’t believe how much of an adrenaline junkie you are!!! Love watching it through!

  2. Amazing find and such a hostile environment, I believe people that mined these must have had some serious courage and back strength! that mud (cement) is mental, those boots must have weighed a ton after that! safety first buddy! might need to come back here in the summer or use shuffle boards (even with these it's not safe)
