I love living in Florida! Seashells, islands and sea critters all in one afternoon!

I love living in Florida. I’m actually starting to feel a little self-conscious about talking about how much I love it here, but I can’t imagine living anywhere else. I am embracing all Florida has to offer!

  1. You have taught me so much! I have loved and collected shells all my life but age caught up with me and I have to tag along with you from now on. Thank you for doing all the work. It keeps me happy and full of joy.🐚🪸🐌

  2. Beautiful video! We got to see things we don’t always see, and lots of interesting little animals. Summer is officially over and fall is bearing down. And shelling should pick up, not that it feels like shells have been lacking this summer. I look forward to this each Sunday.

  3. Nice find with that Scotch Bonnet! We used to go clamming on the bay side when I was about Conner’s age. Plenty of Crown conchs over there. And horseshoe crabs. Still find them terrifying after they walked over my feet. Sweet Ella is living her best life just like mama. What were those orb type things near the rocks on coconut point?

  4. So fun to see all the live critters, and having a beach walk with you! Living in a land-locked European nation, I don't have access to beaches except on holidays, so I love coming along with you every time!

  5. Shar, what a wonderful intro about your "beach job!" You had a fabulous critter day — loved those big crown conchs, the 4-armed "starfish" (a fine common name IMO — anybody who wants to get technical should call them by their scientific name. Nobody actually thinks they are fish!), manatee, and playful dolphins! Congratulations to your friend Capt. Jenny on her JUNONIA!!!

  6. The Sea Grape Lodge is pretty cool! Yay for Jenni’s junonia! 🎉. I loved my tour of Cayo Costa (2005-6ish). I had my best shelling day ever there. That place totally has my heart. We took a tour with Jenni last year. Had the best time.

  7. Hi Sharmon. Congrats Captain Jenni on your first "J". Beautiful!! Mine will find me one day! Loved this video. Sharmon you are so calm, laid back and full of interesting info. I have Cayo Costa and Keewaydin on my bucket list. You are the luckiest ever to live your dream and I'm so glad for myself and others to be with you on Sundays sharing the adventures. I remember your videos when you stayed there and Brian's vid when he actually camped there. Can't wait to visit that beautiful island. Have a great week and praying the upcoming storm spares SWF and weakens before it makes landfall in the panhandle.

  8. Great video! We'll be there in March. So, now I want to hire Captain Jenny and go to Cayo Costa Island too! Were you two there during low tide? If so, is low tide the only time worth going? Thank you for the awesome video! I always learn so much from you! 😊

  9. I have been waiting for this one and it was well worth the wait!!! 😍 I am curious about the baby’s ear with the colors on it. That’s a different species? I’m learning so much! I have a couple of gray ones, a black one, and an orange one, but fairly certain that I found them in Outer Banks, NC, where the shells are usually discolored in (you guessed it…) orange, gray, and black, so I suspect that they were probably white at some point. However, I have also found gray ones on the Texas coast and they don’t look like they are discolored, but I could be mistaken. I noticed that there was a pattern to the colors on your special baby’s ear, so I am guessing that was how you knew, but is it just a color variation or a completely different species? Fascinating!! Congrats to Captain Jenny on her first J! How exciting! I hope I can find one someday.
