  1. 1) the crop system
    2) the art style
    3) it doesn't take forever to play through the story
    4) I never got stressed over time and not being able to do what i want
    5) it was never a chore to go to talk to the villagers

  2. Honestly, to me, this game isn't that bad, but like it could have been done better graphic wise because art style and graphics wise, the 3d sprites and the 2d back ground clash too much and I'm disappointed that the npcs/villagers just phase in and out/teleport to new locations….. the character models are very expressive tho and the characters themselves aren't too bad.

  3. My main problems in Light of Hope are the pacing (it moves fast then hits a roadblock then zips to the finish line) and the lack of a late game help machine like a seed maker or a count of how many crops I've shipped so I have an idea of how close I am to unlocking seeds for a particular mutation. Honestly, between it and One World I'm dreading how insane the mutations will get in Winds of Anthos.

  4. I bought this game on iOS during lockdown and I put a fair few hours into it, but I guess the point was we were in lockdown over the winter and there’s were just so many hours per day to fill up… otherwise I doubt I would have played it much.

  5. I know there are some that if wasnt their thing, however some people got a little too sensitive about it. I would have liked some things to be different, but I had enough fun to replay and liked the dlc so it was good for me maybe I'll try to play again😊

  6. I really appreciate people who are willing to give much-hated games a fair shake, even if they walk away unimpressed in the end. Thank you for going in with the best of intentions! Also: I was so shocked when you picked your birthday. I always choose Fall 2 because I was born on November 2nd – we're (almost) birthday buddies 😂

  7. Hm is this like a remake or something of the harvest moon game for the DS? I remember their one with a town that like got flooded and you need to find like sun drops to bring back more of the island.

  8. You need to rebuild the whole town to bring back the villagers. there's hot spring on the mountain area that need repair, restaurant would near town square if I remember. And some items would sell higher price when you sell it directly to vendors, like flowers to florist, fish to restaurant.

  9. Hey, I really like the idea of trying to find positives in something that you may not like or that other people say is not great. I really enjoyed this video and I think it reminds us to practice gratitude everyday! Thank you!

  10. I like the optimism! I haven’t played this one because of the bad reviews but I’m sure there are people that do. It’s always good to get both sides because you may find something you like enough to give it a try!

  11. I kinda like Harvest Moon series, 'cause there are specific things they mantain in all the games. Even there are many things I dislike, but I like those below:

1- Storytelling is very Fairy-Taleish and I kinda love that
2- Requests coming by mail not on a dashboard
3- The fainting animation is really cute
4- Your character is very expressive and has dialogues
5- You have a harvest wisp as a companion, it kinda reminds me Link and Midna xD

    2. I love the story line
    3. I married the wizard but I mean he was my favorite besides the flower shops son so I love the characters I had this one on the switch but beat it multiple times

  15. This actually sounds like a punishment I received as a child. Say something nice to the person I got into a fight with… and I picked the most useless thing to compliment.

  16. Thank you Josh for playing Light of Hope. This game is personally not my vibe at all.

But watching and hearing you bringing up positives first and giving this game a try.

  17. Lol, every time Josh wears pink/beige color clothes, it feels like he is not wearing anything when the screen is still buffing, and the resolution is low XD.

  18. I mean, if the best thing you can say is 'they've made worse'…

Also, ye gods the graphics… don't get me wrong, Natsume's offerings sure as fuck aren't a visual feast – but they're consistent and don't look like fucking 2013 mobile trash 😛

  19. I like these types of videos! I’m always curious to see what’s available in “not as good” games, especially in the Natsume games since I likely wouldn’t buy them myself unless they have a lot to them. I do like the variety of crops in this game tho, so maybe I’ll check it out if it’s on a mega sale or something

  20. Granted, I haven't touched the game since reaching 50 hours a few years ago, but LoH wasn't as bad as reviews made it seem. It helps that the game is available between $15-25 for the Complete Edition with all DLC included. That said, mining was easily the best way to make money so I rarely grew crops, cooked, or fished unless necessary for story progression. The pets you could own are cute and, with the exception of needing specific rating materials for some requests like getting married, I also enjoyed raising livestock. I had very little interest in marrying anyone so I went for Gorgan and was surprised you become a stepmother to Nova with Gorgan being surprisingly sweet too. I haven't had the chance to play One World or either 3DS game but I'll likely keep an eye on The Winds of Anthos.

  21. Hearing that people hate this was shocking! I love this game!! One of the things that keeps bringing back to this game is the crop mutations since newer games don't have it.
