I Inherit (and Defile) a Mint, *Unfired* WWII Pistol

In this episode of TFBTV, @JamesReeves inherits a Colt 1903 Hammerless Pocket pistol in .32ACP. This pistol is pristine, mint – unfired. This specific 1903 was issued to James step-grandfather, who was a brigadier general. James eventually inherited it. It was never handled or shot before James got it, but what’s the fun in that? James sends this gun to get re-coated with a camo paint job and add an optics cut for a Sig Romeo Zero/Holosun 407k/507k footprint, and then takes it to the range…

  2. AAAAAAA YA BASTAAAARD 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Almost got me! If you had touched that gun the only thing that your step-dad and grandpa would be happy about would've been to switch places to hold you while the other one beats you up 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Jokes aside (even the cruel ones you pull out) respect for giving life to an old horse, you'll be surprised how many laps it has to go more.

  3. As a kid, I went to many weeknight Giants games, and besides foul balls, I had many balls tossed to me by an umpire during the 7th inning stretch or at the end of a game. I got many of them autographed by players, but our neighborhood strike outs often ended up with lost balls, and I would end up taking my autographed ball out to play. Of course, that would end up lost as well, and I don't regret my choices. That being said, my heart hurt this whole video until the end, but that cerekote job with that optic looks sick.

  4. Damn. I'm mad that you didn't. I'm madder you chose a romeo zero. Sig could pay me a $100 a day to carry one on my pistol and I'd rather find a rock to throw at someone in a gunfight than hope that polymer pos could survive my adrenaline fueled orangutan grip.

  5. James- As much as that gorgeous 1903 seems like it might be a perfect museum piece, it's actually not. Museums exist to tell stories and histories, and (in theory) every artifact on display should contribute to the particular story they are trying to tell. This usually means that important provenance, notable ownership, and involvement in historically significant events are far and away more important than the condition, preservation, or documentation of the artifact itself. To put it another way- a rustbucket battlefield bringback in a rotted holster and no papers, used in a pivotal battle by a decorated hero, would be more valuable to a museum than an unfired NIB piece like yours.

What you've got is a collector's trophy, not a museum artifact.
