  1. I just have to say this, what the heck is wrong with the vets, what critical factors does Sherpy need for them to say bring him in straight away.He is clearly not well, and it is taking a toll on our poor boy,and on Jamie. I'm so mad that he has to wait 3 days to get treatment😢 we are all here , sending you both so much love and support. ❤❤

  2. Wish there was something I could say that would ease times like this. However, I can say you are both in my heart and prayers . It has always been clear how much you love Sherpa, even more now. He too loves you. ❤️

  5. I understand how painful going through this is for you along with sharing with us. However, I want you to know how much this means to me. Sherpa is very special pup who has brough some light not only my life, but many others. You are very kind to share your lives with others. Your books are full of kindness and love as well. I am certain as well that Sherpa's plushies have brought sunshine and comfort to others as well. Again, thank you.

  6. Dear Jamie, this is the hardest part of having a dog in your life. However, Sherpa is still having a god quality of life – better than many, younger dogs (unfortunately) and many people. It is physically and mentally tough on you but you still treat Sherps with gentleness and love – remember the great times and rejoice in the love, even now, that Sherpa gets and gives. You are a mensch!

  7. Jamie, by the time you read this, you've probably have been to the specialist. When one of my cats was having trouble walking I videoed her and showed the vet, just wondering
if you show the specialist any of your videos concerning Sherpa's condition. Hope you can understand what I'm trying to say. Sending love and prayers.

  9. Jamie all of us (even those of us like me that don't sign in to Youtube often) are pulling for you and Sherpa. You are one of the very, very few dog (pet) channels I follow. You two have been on so many great adventures together, don't think I've seen a stronger bond between human and pet. Wishing you, Sherpa and your family the best.

  10. This was probably covered and I somehow missed, but does he have a systemic infection post dental surgery? I'm thinking of the lethargy, anorexia, weakness, etc. Perhaps some immediate antibiotics… but again, don't want to over-step and I probably missed it. Wishing you both lighter days ahead and swift healing.

  12. Jaime, it’s clear you love your dog, and Sherpa knows it. He loves you too, in the way dogs do.. but, the saddest day for you, and him, is near. He needs your strength and compassion now. Do what you think is right, he is suffering. I lost my Rhodesian Ridgeback in exactly the same way. It utterly broke my heart, it devastated me. You have a hard road ahead. Make it quick and painless. Whatever happens, Sherpa is going to pass very soon. He is a great dog. Honour him for the dog he was.its about him, not you. Although it will affect you for all your days. You are his master. Give him the end he has earned.

I know it's heartbreaking been there too many times but you will know when it's time mine was just the same ,please don't prolong it when you are ready mine ate all the things he wasn't supposed to, and I had to wash him most days but in the end he got upset because he kept messing himself. Sending love they are only lent to us for a short time.x

  14. Jamie the day Sherpa let you into his life you made a promise to always do what's best for him, you have kept that promise and some. To have such a bond with a dog that you two have is a privilege, it hax brought you two so much joy and you have shared it with all of us, Sherpa has left paw prints on a lot of hearts.
Serpha may not be as vocal but he is still talking to you, keep him as pain free as you can and just be with him until he says "it's time Dad" and keep that promise xx

  15. With senior dogs, especially one with health problems, the routines change. The new norms change almost daily. One day all is well, the next day is nothing but struggles. Hang in there Jaime. You’re doing great! ❤ Give Sherpie a hug and kiss from all of us.

  17. I am not a doctor or a vet. But I am a person who has dealt with an autoimmune disease. When I had medical issues in one part of my body, it caused my autoimmune disease to flare up. I am wondering if healing from Sherpas dental surgery caused a flare up of his arthritis. His body was dealing with too many issues at one time. Just a thought. Sending lots of healing energy to you and Sherpa. This is sooooooooooooo hard for you, and I am sorry.

  19. Jamie, get a second opinion. Now. Do you have emergency vet services available? If so, they may be able to guide you better right now.
And question the use of paracetamol with a known liver problem. It is verboten in the US in that situation.
