  1. Guess I'm not a gamer then. Well I didn't consider myself much of a gamer anymore once I became an adult and had to go to work to pay bills, social security, healthcare… though I guess one still could discern between hardcore gamer (soulsborne enjoyer) gamer (wants to play some games to have fun and/or fill some boring time but can't exactly cope with the mobile-cashgrab shit) and casual/mobile gamer (anyone mainly playing on smartphone or tablet and their freemium scams).

  2. I…. honestly cannot understand why people are so hyped for this game. It's literally a Dark Souls copy+paste, or at least it looks like it is.

Can anyone illuminate me? Other than it being kinda open world, what's new? What's different enough to make people say it's a masterpiece?

  3. Can't play my copy on PC on 1080p because of a lightning glitch that makes the screen flash and turn totally black… and i'm having above recommended specs for this game. I don't understand the 10/10 rating. Its a 9/10 for me so far because of those glitches.

  4. Game is amazing, only thing I can call negative to is that I feel the need to put music on in the background because its a little "quiet" and my attention problems wake up sometimes if I don't. Everything other than that is great. I hear a few people have graphics/framerate issues with, but I've only had the odd stutter.
Also, the lack of overall direction is good, but I tend to get super lost and end up doing things beyond out of "order" lol.
    Either way 10/10 lol

  5. One of the few games I've pre-ordered. I'm 12 hours in on PC and it's just phenomenal. Performance isn't top-notch, but it's much better than I've seen reported online (at least on my machine, which isn't top of the line)

  6. The only layer “summoning” adds to a fight is the easy-mode layer, and this layer 100% diminishes the accomplishment of beating a boss. Dark souls was and is about overcoming difficult bosses to a point where they aren't as difficult anymore because you learned how they behave, by summoning a friend or npc you won't need to learn a boss you can just brute force your way through.

  7. I’m running on just base ps4, and it honestly still looks great, only choppy frame rate sometimes but not even too bad. It’s refreshing having an actually finished game released, but fromsoft has always been good to us.

  8. for the demon souls remake I would say it isn't worth getting a PS5 when you can just get a PS3 and just play basically because they are same game but for Elden ring if it were a PS5 exclusive it would be worth getting a PS5

  9. Carriages in the area you find early on reminded me of Bloodborne. It's a small thing, but definitely stands out for those of us that have played the past From Soft games. Also, NPC Summons yea I used those in previous Soulsborne titles, like you advance the story of these characters when you play these fights with the NPC Summons.

  10. I am loving Elden Ring so far, and I agree. I've been playing Souls games since DS1 and I still struggle with these game when they release. Its ok to just be ok at these wonderful games.

  11. the game is great but i've encountered 1 and only 1 mind you bug and sadly it's really irritating. That's enemy's not loading in properly and being invisible. this was a thing since the live test and it's a thing now at least on pc. Don't know what causes this. I run the game fine but sometimes just whole groups of enemies don't want to load in and just be invisible or be phasing in and out of existence. Still able to fight them but it's annoying and makes shields that much harder

  12. Amazing on console, meanwhile steams enraged over optimization issues so I don't know if I should pick it up on steam myself. The game isn't bad but the possibility of not bring able to run it good or at all is high.

  13. Fromsoftware did a great job of avoiding the pitfall that a lot of open world games fall into, which is making a vast open space that looks beautiful but feels empty. Ontop of that, the world map itself looks very aesthetically pleasing, looking like an old styled map with a painted look to it. The game is certainly without its issues, most of which are technical and expected since this is the first time Fromsoftware has made an open world game of this caliber… but it's still an amazing game, nonetheless.
